| Misc Questions about Shows Do local Shows charge a fee for spectators? Will judges at the shows talk to spectators about a breed or your dog in particular even though you don't enter it? Can you show your dog out of state? I live in Texas, but Oklahoma is pretty close too. I've spoken to quite a few locals with yorkies, but I haven't had any luck finding anyone very knowledgeable about shows. I've never gone to a show & I've really only watched the really large shows that you see on TV. I saw a listing about InfoDog.com, so I was looking at shows on there. Thanks, Trey |

| Most shows do not charge for spectators. You will likely pay a parking fee to park your car. If you can, find breeders that are showing. Judges often don't know all the finer points of the breed unless they happen to be also Yorkie breeders. You can find shows on the AKC website and teh show secretaries will post the judging schedule so you will know how many Yorkies are in the show and what time approximately you will find them in the ring. Talk to the handlers/breeders after tehy are done showing, not before as they are busy getting ready then busy watching before they go in the ring. |

| Sorry to disagree with you Lorraine, But, yes most local dog shows do charge a few, usually between 5 & 7 dollars. Some venues do not have a parking fee as in the one held in the Will Rogers stadium in Fort Worth, Bluebonnet Specialty is held at the Sterling Hotel; no parking fee. The OK Specialty coming up in 2 weeks is held at the Biltmore and has no parking fee, but there is a spectator fee. The Dog show at the Dallas Convention Center in July charges a spectator fee and a parking fee. As does the 3 day OK City Cluster memorial weekend. I've yet to attend any dog show in this Region that doesn't charge a spectator fee. There is a dog show this weekend in Denton. Mary

I guess even from an exhibitors standpoint, at some venues you have to pay for parking....but, can get a discount on a multiple day show. And even with that the parking can be anywhere from 3 - 12 dollars a day

| Normal fee for parking around my area is 5.00 per day. I get free parking for the day my club sponsors our club in the cluster, but I also help out that day. Judges = some are really good and can tell you qualities to look for and then there are a few you wonder about. If you know what I mean. Breeders have always been my best to talk to and all have been very helpful and nice to me. A few handlers too are very nice. Most handlers are very busy and have a lot to do, so not as available. Yes, you can go to any show in any state - just make sure when you go to observe you are in the right area - confirmation, not rally or other areas. T. | You'd do better to look at Onofrio.com for shows in your area. Yes, you can show your dog in other states.
