Where are you planning on staying?
Most of the show people are staying at the Hickory Inn. I don't have the name of the cabins....I'll find out, but if you go back to onofrio.com and pull up the premium list, it has a list of lodging there. I think it is listed.

Looking at the list. Would it be the 'Cowskin Prairie' or possibly 'Cedar Oaks Resort'? There's quite a list, and I was ruling out all that had Inn or Motel -- and of course the chains I recognized.

If you're not sure; I'll call around tomorrow.

No problem, If you're coming I'll be sure and make copies of that article on choosing a mentor and bring it with me.

Now don't expect anything fancy on that Resort/Motel....Grove is a fishing town....but oh so quaint.....the sidewalks roll up at about 9. There is a great little restuarant overlooking the lake right off of Main Street, a little tricky to get to, but I'm sure if you ask someone local they can get you right to it.

This may have already been posted - Ihaven't read all the posts! There is a Yorkie club in Ok City I believe Ken Lambert is the President - I now he is this year's show chairman. You can reach him to topdawgkc@aol.com Their show will be held on May 18th at the Biltmore Hotel.
Hope to see you there.

I've got that one marked on my calendar, so I'll be there. Thanks for the info. I was planning on going to watch my first show this weekend in Grove, OK, but a family incident has caused me to cancel my plans, sigh. But there's still a couple shows I'm planning on attending in May.

Sorry will miss you......

I think I' already gave you the info on the Oklahoma Specialty.....but, I failed to tell you that the following 2 days, same location, is the Oklahoma Toy Dog Specialty. Ken is also the show Chairman.

Thanks, Mary, I'm really disappointed -- I was so excited. When my hubby got hurt, lol, that was one of the questions I asked his Dr. "Can we still make the trip?" Dr. McCaffey looked at me like I was crazy, well so did my husband, and he said he wouldn't recommend Donald doing any work or traveling until Monday at the earliest, lol.

At least the shows at the Biltmore Hotel are within 30 minute commute from my home, so I'm not going to have any trouble making it.

So sorry to hear about the rattlesnake incident. Your husband was very lucky! In all my years here in Texas, and many living in the country, we never encountered one. (Thank goodness!) Don't imagine your husband will want to go to the Rattlesnake Roundup in Sweetwater...
I hate that you will miss the meet this weekend, but the specialty will be great. There's also meets in Denton the first weekend in May. Don't know how far that would be for you. Take care of hubby. Hope he feels better soon!

Thanks, I had never seen one in real life before either. Lol, he's kinda turned off of snakes right now.

My husband and I are thrilled to hear about the show in OKC. Can anyone attend and are we able to take our two Yorkies into the show area even if we are not entering them in the show?

Yes, absolutely anyone can attend. You can go to either http://www.ytca.org/ or http://www.onofrio.com/. If you go to Onofrio just go to show information, all shows. The Oklahoma City YT Club is Friday, May 18th. The following day is the Central Oklahoma Toy Dog Club Specialty at the same location. You can get all the details there. Numbers and times won't be posted till sometime next week. As for taking your dogs...Actually, it is against the rules to take any dogs not entered, but, some people do. It mainly depends on the people hosting the shows or the akc rep. You could try it, just don't be upset if someone ask you to take your dogs out. These shows will be lots of fun and you will be able to meet lots of people that share your love of the breed. Hope you get to go!

Have talked to Mary and she's having one of those crazy, busy days! She did point out Jen's This Time Silly Blues this weekend, requiring only 1, 3pt. major to finish. She was hoping to do that but the major broke.
