Thank you, your advice is appreciated. I'll do just that; a couple people have let me know about a couple shows within my area, and I'm planning on attending as many as I can.

Thank you! Lol, there is just only so much you can learn from books and TV, that's for sure.

There is also a wonderful article Yorkshire Terrier Magazine (not sure if it was in Dec/Jan issue will hunt it up) on how to pick your mentor, how if picked correctly they are worth their weight in gold......Picking a mentor is tricky.

You know I didn't even realize how many shows are in my area. I've been doing a huge amount of research at the library, and also we watch the shows that are on TV, but I hadn't really known where to look for local info. . . Until now, and also since I didn't really see any flyers, or really any articles in the paper; I kept thinking everything was probably in Tulsa. Thank you, looks like the one in Grove I've missed, but the other two I'm putting on my calendar.

If I give send you PM a fax number; would it be possible to get a faxed copy of that article? Or my address, or, I can send you a self addressed stamped envelope, and maybe I could get a copy of the artical from you? My local library doesn't carry that magazine, just the general dog magazines. . .

I was about to subscribe, but I'm afraid with the price- I'll need to wait until payday next Friday, lol. Even so that'll be for future issues. . . What gorgous photos, are all issues that pretty?

There are 2 Grove shows, one last weekend and one coming up this next weekend...... Looking for shows in your area is relatively simple.....go to onofrio.com....click on shows, you have several options, upcoming shows, closed shows & show results (usually posted on Tuesday after the show weekend)

I'm looking for the article....or rather the issue.....as soon as I find it.....I'll let you know.

Yes, all issues have great pics, but more so, wonderful articles, on judging, whelping, showing, mentoring.....etc.

Don't know if you've been there, but it is a quaint lil boating community. Plenty of inexpensive lodging....there's a place on the lake that has little cabins with kitchenneetts screened porches...about $50.00 a nite...Hickory In...is not plush, but clean and comfortable with fridges and microwaves...about the same price. Best Western, more expensive.....So, if you came the nite before you wouldn't be so tired from the drive.

My husband knew someone in the past who lived there; I've never been there though. I'm probably going to drive in that day, but the more I think about it a night visit sounds nice -- would you happen to have the name, and possibly the number of the little cabin place, it sounds nice and quant.

Where are you planning on staying?
