| Frank. TN - Scare At Show Today Was anyone at the TN show today in Franklin? The reason I ask is because I heard that the State Troopers were called in to guard and the show had a lockdown! And that someone, just after lunch - tried to steal a dog. And someone was there taking pictures of the dogs in cages. What a scare! It is sad times when one can not enjoy a day at the show. Has anyone else heard about this today? There are also children at these shows, some are junior handlers too. I just feel so sorry for all the people that had to go through this today. T. |

| I just don't get it! What is wrong with these kind of people??? There just seems to be more and more stupid and senseless crime everyday.. I find it to be so sad that children have to grow up in this kind of a world today.

| show I read it was PETA...some carriers were opened and they let the dogs loose..haven't heard how many or if they were recovered as yet. I respect anyone's right to have an opinion, but you do not endanger any life, human or animal expressing your opinion, right? I can see PETA going hand to hand with show people, but why would they they to hurt (the dog) if it is the object of their cause? AXX backward thinking! |

| They also do not think how this affects the kids that are at the shows too. I have two close friends that have their daughters showing - they are junior handlers. This is so bad! I hope the people that did this get some jail time and heavy fines. T. |

| That's just horrible...Why do people do this kind of thing?? It's so frustrating to think that we live in a world that has no respect for other people. Did they hurt the dogs? Were they stolen?

| Per a show list and a exhibitor that was there. PETA was there, mostely taking pictures of dogs in crates. After lunch an attempted theft of GSD, created a lock down of the building. State Troopers were called in for Security and only 1 door was left for access into the show site. Fellow exhibitors created a buddy system watching each other's set ups while others were in the ring.

| I saw this on another forum... it was titled "Think twice about leaving your dogs unattended at a show" Heads up for exhibitors.. .. Suzie just called from the Franklin, TN 4 day circuit to file this report: PETA was on the grounds today -- mostly taking pictures of dogs in crates ("animal cruelty") and causing a scene. After lunch an attempted theft of a GSD created a lock down of the building. An announcement was made on the loudspeaker just before groups that the State Troopers were called in and would be helping in "security" for the handlers and their dogs! As of then only one door guarded by law enforcement and watched by club members remains open to come in or go out. Handlers got their friends/assistants to watch their set ups while they were in the ring showing in the groups. Now Franklin, Tennessee is only about 4 hours from Louisville, and the consensus of opinion was that this was a "dress rehearsal" for the big event. Anyone planning on taking dogs, bring padlocks for your crates and use the buddy system. Introduce yourself to people set up around you if you are crated in the building, and take turns watching the dogs. Rumors are circulating that this could end up going back to the national level like it did several years ago when handlers started carrying baseball bats! Please think twice before leaving your dogs unattended at any show. Permission Given to Crosspost |

| Shirley, What is forthcoming with the upcoming shows, has to do with the town and the new legislature that they are attempting to impose. It will create a big impact on reputable breeders.

| I guess I need to do a little research... Mary, can you give me a brief synopsis? I dont mean to impose upon you to tell me more>....but, if you could that would be great...... I am sure it is something that I will need to know......eventually......although to breed you must HAVE a Yorkie first...LOL Thanks again..... Shirley |
