Westminster - Only 12 yorkie enteries this year!

Have you all heard this yet? Wow, I could not believe such a low entry total yorkies for this year's Westminster. Maybe more are just doing the Speciality and not the Westminster. Hummmmm, wonder who is entered?

Yep! A very low entry, but so was Eukanuba.....

I wonder why such low numbers. I am sure they are sending out more invitations.

They only send out invites to the top 5 in each breed.....AKC/Westminster ruling....with all other Champions entering above that number. Other breeds have pulled good numbers, but Yorkies haven't.......It could be a number of reasons......and the rumours are flying.

Sounds like you have an ear for the latest. I am so issolated here - North Georgia. I am usually the last one to hear anything.

Yes, there are alot of rumours, but you can't believe everything you hear. I'm a believe that I haven't seen it with my own eyes, then don't believe it.

Your kidding me......wonder what the deal is......I started looking yesterday after you both mentioned the Specialty....I spoke with a breeder and she said she was not sending anything to Westminster.....but, she does have something in NYS.

Is somebody mad about something? Maybe the expense of going and paying the entry has gotten to high...and they are boycotting....???LOL kidding....

Heck I would hock a big toe to go.....

Not sure! Westminster has always been a benched show. So maybe people are tired of this. Who knows.

I only know of 3 dogs for sure that are entered. I've never seen the Bitch, but I understand she's beautiful....well if she doesn't take BOB, we know she'll take BOS

You never know what the reason is for the low head count. Yes, entry fees are expensive $75.00, hotel fees, bench show and the space they give you is not real big.....no place to sit, hot and crowded in the grooming room. You need to have someone go with you, so they can watch your dog if you have to go to the bathroom or to eat. If your a small person (short) you need to hire security to get you through the crowds to get to the ring.....very prestigous show.....but, alot of work.

Could be because Yorkies NEVER win. Maybe the yorkie breeders are discouraged.
