| Why Don't Yorkies Win Against other toy dog breed in competition?? I watch alot of them on Animal Planet and yorkies never win.. they never get in the Best of Show round. Silky Terreries do..but, they don not win either. And when I do see a yorkie in these shows they do not look itty bitty. ( Like some are lead to believe that yorkies are better quality if itty bitty) I do not attend to show my babies in competition. But I was wondering this Because I believe there is no perfect Yorkie (in this breed). There is a standard YES.. I KNOW.. but,if there is a yorkie that won a competition against all toy breeds!! I would love to see HIM or Her((Pretty Please))

| Back in the 80's or 90's we had a few that would win Best in Group and even one Best In Show (I think Barbee owned it, I will have to look up the name - maybe Ch. Cede Higgins? Hummm). The shows on Animal Planet are your larger shows, like Westminster, etc.. There for awhile most of your winners were around 6-7 pounds because they are seen well in the ring and show a good presence. I will have to look up the yorkie that has won your better shows - BIS and Best In Group and let you know. T. | ||

| winners Off the top of my head I can think of a few that are around.. Tyava's Wyatt Lisa Farmer's Frankie Durrer's..Maria Condona of Parkside also.. Rothby's Rep Guemart Charlotte's sire won a BIS in 2002 as I recall... Marne, Mary Nerf on and on.... The few dog shows on Animal Planet are just a tiny handful of shows around the world, so you don't get an overall picture of the winning Yorkies.. |

| Did you watch the dog show on animal planet last night? I just love the black and tan cocker spaniel that won! He looks alot like my Juliet! I really love the black and tans and was over joyed when he won. I've never seen a dog show that a cocker spaniel won. Just keep watching eventually it will happen.
