| I keep hearing about some show that is once a year I think around the Austin area where international judges come and you can get a international championship on your dog. Do you know anything about that and have you ever been to it? |

Brooklynn Now I have one more question!! How can everyone agree, that US has the BEST dogs, but according to "SWEETY BLUE TOP 20 bereeders" (http://www.sweetyblue.com/sweety/Pri...Breeders07.asp ) the first american breeder is #4... what is going on? | I've been thinking and The more I hear about all this 'enhancing' the more disappointed I feel. I know it goes on but I feel that is very sad in the fact when you look at a beautiful Yorkie you really don't know if the colors are real. I used at admire Yorkies with beautiful rich gold and now I am finding out that many are 'enhanced' to just make them appear to have the correct color. When I hear of someone being disqualified because their dog is too light, well, the next time that dog goes in the ring it might be the correct color or any white it might have on its chest or chin could just be covered up. It appears that the lighter dogs are easier to correct than a nice darker dog that just might not be breaking or clearing until later. When you see a beautiful dog you wonder 'is it natural or just a great dye job'. I know if I am going to show and be competitive then I better get used to it and maybe start learning some of the 'tricks of the trade'. In fact, this thread has been informative and I think I know some of the 'tricks' now. Thank you all so much! |

But sorry to say yorkies aren't the only ones winning that way...maltese, bichons are bleached, poodles have extentions, shih tzus have eyeliners on their heads and the list goes on....I just wish the yorkie exhibitors just weren't chastised so badly when it's done in so many other breeds....that's the sad part...I just wish health and soundness were of more concern than enhancements JMHO Donna | |

| Actually, I never wear makeup, it makes my face feel dirty. So to answer your question, yes I like me the way I am, just a natural country lady. Nothing artificial. |

| I don't have the skin for natural, makeup is my friend! I saw them put eye liner on a Chi and color enhance it's white. It didn't change it's look dramatically, just sharpened it up. Now some of the tricks to hide bad fronts and rears, etc. now that's a shame!
