| Is it a yorkie or not? I should be worrying about this too much, but I bought her as a "yorkie" for mother's day and my mom insists the she does not look like a "real" yorkie. She does not have long curly hair (as regular yorkie puppies), nor sraight up ears. She is about to be 3 months old. Could anybody please tell me if she is a yorkie-yorkie or a mixed breed according to your experience? I know I should not be worrying too much about this, we love Cayetana very much, but sincerelh we still have that nonsense doubt. (I am attaching pictures of her, she's lovely to us anyways) Thank you very much. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?f...type=3&theater https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?f...type=3&theater https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?f...type=3&theater https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?f...type=3&theater |

| I agree I agree, definately not yorkie. It doesn't really look like a yorkie mix even (imo), Definately a cutie though. There are tons of photos of pups that age, just type in google image search Yorkie 4 months old (or what ever the age is) and compare. I would be heading back to that person if it were me... (When you buy a Yorkie, it is because that is what you wanted, and trusted it to be, but that is a whole other topic I suppose). Good luck with the whole situation, Truely glad you love her! At least she will have a wonderful loving home... Last edited by YorkieDaddy1; 06-02-2015 at 07:43 AM. |

| 5/21 you shared a thread with member Tay65 titled I have a mixed breed. you posted these same pictures today on that thread, I answered you on that thread, now I see you have created your own thread. This is what I sent you on the thread by Tay65 I have a mixed breed. For starters, yorkie puppies do not have long curly hair, some yorkies will have floppy ears, I had two with floppy and two with straight stand up ears. As for is she a yorkie. I say at this age give her time to grow, to me she looks like a poorly breed yorkie, she has the coloring of a yorkie, IMO, I think she will be a large baby, 10 lbs maybe more. I say this because of my own personal experience. All my yorkies were 10 lbs and over, my largest being 17 lbs. Looking at your babies face shape and size leads me to think she will be on the larger size, not the standard 5 to7lbs. This is JUST my opinion. I had two yorkies that remained with pure black hair on their back and auburn hair on face and legs, I had two yorkies that were silver grey body and tan / blond face and legs. Did you see the parents of this puppy, did you buy this puppy from a breeder, or, someone that had a yorkie and mated her/him with with another yorkie. Did you get AKC registration papers for this puppy.... As long as she is a healthy baby and you love this little baby that's all that really matters. I understand that you want to know if she is pure breed, but, a picture is just that, a picture. Sometimes it is hard to tell from a picture if a pup is pure breed. If your vet feels she is 80% yorkie, I would go with the vet. You can do a DNA on her to see if she is pure 100 % yorkie. There are members on YT that are DNA savvy. Love and enjoy this new little life you have accepted to join you and your family.

| Reminds me of a pomeranian....if you paid purebred yorkie price then I would be concerned. She is cute either way but nobody likes to be lied to!

♥Love My 3 Furrbutts♥ Donating Member | Sorry IMO that is a mix of some sort....I have two poorly bred yorkies with floppy ears...still they look like yorkies....my profile pic you can see mine. I also have a breed standard yorkies...Gizmo is 5. His ears were up at 3mths old ....btw yorkies do not have long curly coats....their coats are straight and silky. She is a cutie though...glad you love her regardless.

YT 1000 Club Member | I vote for either a poorly bred(no offense) yorkie or a mix. She looks like the pic YorkieDaddy1 posted of the yorkie/collie mix. I actually thought she was a collie puppy, when I saw your pics on FB. |
