| Coat question. How in the world do those show dogs have such long coats??? She-ra has the shortest coat. She has never been groomed because she would be shaved. Harley's is a little longer than hers, but nothing like I have seen. Is there something special you do??? I guess I will have to get them extentions if all else fails, heeheehee!!! Seriously, any help would be appreciated!

| coats To get a super long, floor dragging show coat I think you must wrap the coat. Yours can get a longer coat in time by just letting it grow, brushing out mats, good rinses etc..but not a "Specials" coat...meaning one who can compete in an AKC show for BOB BIS etc. |

| Well, their hair isn't hardly long enough to get mats!! We brush every night, a bathe once a week. I know I won't get "show hair" but some length would be so pretty!

| I am a strong believer that diet has a lot to do with coat preformance as well. So consider a good premuim food as well as omega's too. Know that some coat grow faster than others, as humans do.

| She-ra Is She-ra in your avatar..if so the coat looks a touch coarse..that type breaks before it can grow long...but pic's are deceiving. Still a nice Yorkie, but a coat that is hard to get length on.. |

| I have to say, I agree with diet being extremely important. I don't believe any one food is 'complete', so I rotate between kibble, canned, frozen, on a daily basis. Genetics is #1. If the dog doesn't have the genetics to grow coat, it's not going to happen. Clean coat grows, dirty hair, breaks. My girls have grown beautiful, long coats, without wrapping anything but mustaches and beards. |

Yes, she feels course, but she has never felt oily, her sister, has long hair and is so oily its gross! She feels more dry than anything. I give her beneiful healthy coat b/c it is THE ONLY food she will eat. She gets some salmon oil every other day, bath once a week and no hairdryer. Yes, I love the dark yorkies!!

I tried bathing her twice a week to keep it clean, b/c that is what I have heard, but she was getting dandruff bad so we went down to Sat afternoons.
