| Wanting to start showing and need your opinion... What do you think about this puppy as a show prospect in your personal opinion? Does she look like she has what it takes? I have also attached pictures of the mother and father. The father is a champion. Let me know what you think because I am new to all of this and want to make the best decision. Thanks! |

| The photo of the sire is too small to see his qualities and the dam is not positioned well to see her qualities. The pup is cute and one ot watch, but IMO - too young to tell right now. What size (weight) is the dam? Does the breeder actually have champions of her own? Photos are hard to tell from and see how they move, etc.. But I know sometimes you have to take your chances. I would prefer the pup to be older and then decide. Usually we wait till a pup is at least 5-6 months old to see if it is a show prospect. The older the better. And check out the dam more. Also what guarantee does the breeder have if this pup does not pan out to be for show? And also check out the personality of this pup. Is it very outgoing?? There is so much that goes into a pup becoming a champion. Last edited by topknot; 08-15-2009 at 05:10 AM. |

Photos are not the best to determine whether the a dog is show quality or not. In person evauation with the ability to be able to put your hands on a dog and watch it's movement.

| I have seen 2 Exmoor Yorkies shown in Oregon. They are bigger in size.

| I know Jim and Brett's lines very well. What do you mean by bigger in size? Beyond standard? They produced a number one bitch Ch. BIS, BISS I de Claire at Jonel and several other top winning dogs.

| I've been seeing so many lil ones in the ring out here on the west coast.....just not what I prefer. I prefer a sturdy, more in the upper end of the scale yorkie.....

| I also prefer larger yorkies, especially in the females. 6-7 pounds in a female is a perfect size to me. Her website is allorsyorkies.com. Yes, I would be showing her in Atlanta. |

| I can't get the web site up either. I see she is selling her on YT. I prefer that size too! If you want to win in group someday - you better have one 6-7 pounds! The small ones just get hidden and do not show up against the other dogs in the group, let alone BIS. And if people keep breeding small yorkies, they are going to get smaller and smaller - not a good idea for the breed. |

| She would need to be at least 6 months old when you can start showing a pup. That is good that you will be going to the shows in Atlanta - Expo Center (Jonesboro). Hope to see you there - August 21 - 23rd. Last edited by topknot; 08-15-2009 at 09:25 AM. |
