| BAPPC March Biewer Specialty It is with great pleasure that we announce the upcoming Biewer Specialty hosted by the Biewer a la Pom Pon Club of America (BAPPC). The Biewer Specialty will be held at the IABCA show on March 14th in Conyers, Georgia during show #2. You can register for the Specialty online at BiewerEntryForm or print the form found at http://www.bappc.org/BAPPC_Specialty_Entry_Form.pdf and submit it at the show before the Specialty begins. Please note that each participant must submit the entry form, a copy of the dog's pedigree, and the entry fees before the Specialty begins in order to participate. The entry fee for the Specialty is $25 per dog. Additional classes (bred-by exhibitor, junior handler, and fun matches) are an additional $5 per dog, per class. Please note that if you are entering your Biewer in the fun matches only, you do not need to pay the $25 entry fee. You should only pay the $5 fee per fun class entered (per dog). Information for the IABCA show can be found at Show Information Page. You will need to enter in at least show #2 with the IABCA if you wish to participate in the confirmation part of the Specialty. If you are only entering the pet fun classes, you do not need to register with the IABCA. The Specialty will be held in three parts. The first part of the show will consist of the normal confirmation judging performed by a Yorkshire Terrier breed specialist. After the confirmation judging, we will be hosting our annual Fun Match so that pet owners are able to participate as well. This part of the show is open to all Biewers and will consist of fun classes for best color, fanciest walk, and best tail. We will also have a Best St. Patrick's Day theme class, so put your creativity to work and bring what you need to deck your Biewer out to celebrate the upcoming holiday. Trophies and ribbons will be awarded to the winners. The final part of the Specialty will be held before Best in Show at the end of the day. All Biewers that were entered in the confirmation part of the Specialty are eligible to participate. Our Specialty judge, along with the other judges at the show, will determine best of breed by secret ballot. There will be two separate classes, one for puppies (3-15 months of age) and another for adults (15 months of age and older). This award has been named the Riddle award in honor of our last Biewer Specialty judge, Mrs. Lenora Riddle, who has showed a great interest in the breed and made a donation to the BAPPC. Her donation has been used to purchase beautiful awards for the first place winners. Please note that while there is no additional charge to participate, this is only open to those who were entered in the confirmation Specialty. After the Specialty, we will be presenting our 2008 Club Champion awards. Congratulations to all who participated! We welcome all to attend as it is a great way to meet some of the BAPPC members and learn about some of the different programs we offer. A list of the dogs that participated and the final rankings can be found at Biewer2008Award. This celebration will be held offsite from the show. If you wish to attend, please contact one of our Board members to request more information. Please spread the word and make your flight / hotel reservations now. We have a lot of fun and exciting things planned and look forward to seeing everyone there. If you have any questions or would like to let us know that you plan on attending and entering at the show, please send us an email at bappcorg@aol.com.
