| Ukc show ky I AM so proud of my guy chaz he took best of breed all weekend and took toy group today it was an outside show windy and cold he looked so tiny in the best in show ring he did not place there but i am proud of how far he went i also had to make a harsh decision to stop showing my brother in law's girl she just has to many faults and does not show well i gave it a good shot but some have it some do not so i will be sending her back to texas and i will be training my little girl hanna for next year this showing is no easy feet i came to the realizeation that sometimes we do not see what others see and today i saw what i had suspected little jade was just meant to be a pet and yes i guess she could be finished with enough time and money but the problem i am now having is i know the faults and just can not bring myself to keep showing her plus do you think it is easier to finsh a female verse a male? but over all nice weekend other than to windy and cold 2nd pictue grand daughter first is chaz and gogo they just did not care they were to cold |

| Congrats on Chaz's placements! He is a beautiful little guy. Sometimes I do think we need to step back and look at our dogs in a different way, another reason that showing and getting them evaluated by other breeders and judges is a good thing! I wish you the best of luck with your new little rising star!

| Congratulations about your boy! He is beautiful! I love the first picture with them togtether - very sweet! Yes, it is so important to show them - this way you had her evaluated and know you guys know. It is hard sometimes for us to see their faults, since we love them so much. I have been to so many shows lately and looking at the results of shows - where the females are more in numbers - reason it is harder to finish a female. Yes, you get more points with more females showing, but then you are competing against more. And if the boy is very nice - points can cross over and the more points can go to the boy with less competition than the girls, but he would have to be a very nice boy. I hope this make sense. So it is harder, IMO, right now to finish a girl. T. Last edited by topknot; 09-29-2008 at 03:22 AM. |

| I have never been to a UKC show. How many yorkies are usually there? How many in the Toy group or the show? Do you have one from each breed? T. |

| Congrats Rose! I know the decision to stop showing Jade wasn't an easy one but you'll have Gogo and Chaz to keep you busy. Get that boy in the AKC ring, just not against Connor!

| i have been to ukc show where there is up to 15 in the toy group and some where there is 5 this past weekend there was 6 yorkies it all depends where you go understandably it is not akc but there are a lot of akc judges at these shows and they are getting tough on standards at ukc here lately they are really getting tough on color at least this last show they were and most are structure judges and very harsh pretty does not matter to them they look beyond pretty of course the whole package is important one judge told me my boy was the only correct yorkie there i was even asked if i had dyed his coat well no other wise my other 2 would have looked just like him these judges really put there hands on your dogs they feel everything and they have really been looking at coats to see if they are dyed are not one yesterday had a sign that if you were caught using products it would be an automatic dq no questions asked we watched a lady who's three toy dogs were dq for being a quater of an ounce over the weight limit and the judge would not give little jade was almost excused as was another yorkie for acting up really bad in the ring and after talking to 2 different judges about jade i am doing what is best for her not me other than a fault or 2 she hates to show and i am not willing to put her threw the stress of it all for a ribbon and she is starting to get to light and i refuse to dye i just have an issue with trying to champion a dog that is really pet quality so we will try with another instead she will make a nice mother someday and maybe her babies can carry on where she even if championed i would still myself know her faults and as bad as my brother in law would have liked to see her finished i just can't go any further with her we never have shown a bad gsd when showing and i just cannot show a yorkie that i know has 3 faults there is no pride in it one fault i could live with but as i watched her being shown yesterday by my grandson i really watched and evaluated her and what i had tried not to see as we all do from time to time it just hit me that this is not a champion worthy dog and needs to be retired i would hate to ever be asked how did that dog make champion when i know it should not have so like i said we start again |
