| Our girl Miley! Show or no! Here are some updated pictures of our new girl Miley. I am debating whether she will be a good show candidate or not. I think she is maturing very nicely. Not sure she has the right show attitude as she is very meek and mild. Doesn't like alot of confusion or noise. She does have a slightly rounded ear tip but I cut them as pointed as possible. Is this a big deal in shows? Or do the judges really not look much at it? Honest opinions please. Should we try? Show or no? Don't have a real good photo of her topline. The side picture is not a good representation of her topline. She does have nice structure! Of course I am biased. |

| Show or not, she is beautiful!! I love her face, she has such a pretty face and a beautiful coat too!! I would be most worried about her attitude. Have you gone to any classes with her to see how she does with it?

| I have a gal that is gorgeous structurall but she's on the timid side. I got her UKC championship but showing was torture for her. I didn't realize how bad it was for her until a friend took pictures at her first AKC show. The pictures made it evident that she really hated all the attention. I quit showing her and bred her to a beautiful champion. I'm hoping for nice show pups from her and she makes a wonderful, gentle mom. We all have our place in this world, ths show ring just wasn't Carly's place. Your gal is a very pretty dog, by the way.

| I agree with Tammi. Your girl is very pretty but if she is shy or timid she would not like going to dog shows. Head and tail carriage are very important in a show dog. They only way you will know how she will act is to get her out on a lead and start working with her. You need to take her somewhere away from her normal environment to work with her. If you can get her happy and comfortable walking on a lead then she might have possibilities. I have seen some beautiful Yorkies that just didn't have the right personality for showing and therefore they were not shown. I wish you the best with her. |

| Shari you know how much I love this girl. Her Aunt Kiki can be very quiet and meek too, she is not afraid to go places but is not bouncing off the walls with excitement either. We did a few puppy matches with Kiki and then did not show her again until she was an adult. She suprised us by showing beautifully. She does prefer the indoor shows though to the grass, but she wants to run and play in the grass...isn't that what outside is for anyways...lol. I would not give up hope, I would work with her at home on the lead and if she likes it then let her ride along to a show when you take Romeo. So she can go and you can see how she feels going but not showing and go from there. If she is scared that is different and I do not think any dog should be forced to show. Kiki likes going now, and knows that on the way home she gets ice cream...lol

| She is so pretty!!! If she is structurally sound then all you have to do is work on that attitude!! Make showing a "game" that she enjoys. sometimes the timid ones take a long time and others never get used to being shown. YOu can see it in their faces. Best of luck!!!

| Miley is very cute. Just work on her attitude, since it is everything in the ring. Yes, make training fun and get her exposed to the sites and sounds of a ring before showing. I almost bought a pup from Brigitte a year or two ago (male), but opted not to go through with it. This is when she was just starting to show Cool Man and he was not finished yet. A friend of mine bought two pups from her.During this time she was breeding her first one to a Hunderwood male. I am glad she is doing well. The pup I was looking at was from the same sire and dam was Ornella. Best of luck to you and your Miley. Your site looks wonderful! T. Last edited by topknot; 08-31-2008 at 06:36 AM. |
