| A big congrats gals!! I'm not surprised that Quaker did so well. It's really fun showing 2 shows each day isn't it? You work so hard to get them looking great that it's nice to get to show them off twice!! Someday we'll have to get Connor, Denali, Guy, Quaker, and Deuce together and start working on some grand championships!! All your babies are gorgeous, way to go!

| I was very sad this weekend because it seemed like everyone was at a show but me. Right now I am "beaming with pride" for all my dear friends. I told you Fri that I had an eye for a good dog and Quaker had what it took to go Best! Do you realize how rare it is for a class dog to go Best In Show? There is a long list of AKC Top 10 Yorkshire Terriers that finished in the UKC first. In fact, there is one on the Top 10 right now that was on the UKC Top 10 2 years ago. I am sure Quaker will go on to follow in their footsteps. |

| Mom and I thank you all from the bottom of our hearts! We are so very thrilled and still on cloud 9! LOL Quote:
We were so excited to tell his breeders...they are going to be so excited. Next weekend we are back in the AKC ring looking to wrap up this AKC Championship this year. He was our first show yorkie and we have made our share of mistakes with his coat and of course we were learning how to handle at the same time. We had a great experience showing UKC, I wish I would have started there. The judges were so helpful to the newbies and gave an explanation of why a dog was awarded Best Female or Best Male...or why they weren't. Maia did not have her A game this weekend and found a new hobby side winding...so we have something to work on before July! Thanks again everyone!!!

| Deuce was a side winder as a pup. She will grow out of it. When you practice, when you go out for walks ect, walk her on the right side. When you show her, walk her on he left. Sounds simple but it works. If you are doing your down and back and the dog is not moving well, switch hands. Are you familar wth the 1/3 rule? If you are less than 1/3 of the way down, you can go back and start over. If more than a 1/3, you need to keep going. If the dog did really awful, ask the judge to let you do it again. 99.9% of the time, they will let you. |
