| My First Dog Show I went to my first dog show at Qwest Field in Seattle today (actually I used to go when I was way way younger, but I really can't remember that far back LOL ). IT WAS SOOO DANG FUN!!! I've been toying with the idea of showing my pups for awhile now, but after looking at all the beautiful Yorkies, I don't believe my babies are of show quality However, Aidan (Biewer) our newest baby who will be arriving very soon, may be able to show. I found a training school that would work with us on obedience and conformation (after Aidan adjusts to his new family & home). If he does have the ability to show, at what age can he compete in dog shows? One woman we met today told us she should have waited to show her Doberman (1 year old) because he was competing with older dogs and didn't do too well (he was gorgeous too!! and thought he did well). Are there any other advice you can give us as we begin our new adventure? We were also trying to figure out what BOW means. We figured out BOB is Best of Breed, BOS is Best of Show. I'm sure it's something simple, but I couldn't find it in my dog show competition book. Help, anyone?

| BOW is Best of Winners and BOS is Best of Opposite Sex. BB is Best of Breed. You can start a dog in puppy class at 6 months old. You have to get info on showing a Biewer as they aren't allowed to be shown in AKC matches yet.

| Ah but learning is the adventure!! With dogs you never stop learning anyway. I think there is a thread about a biewer specialty in here, check it out.

Donating YT 2000 Club Member | Biewers can be shown with ARBA.org, NAKC.com and IABCA.com right now. Just not at AKC. |
