Great Loss for the Yorkie World We have lost another great dog to the Rainbow Bridge. Ch. Cantlon's Medicine Man aka Fearless, owned by Barbara Cantlon, lost his battle with dog show crud Tuesday evening. At 11 years old he went to Rainbow Bridge. This was going around at the Florida shows from what I have been told. I was very sad to hear of the loss of Fearless. Deana Prestigeous

problem Yes, it is sad.... It is a virus that acts like parvo in symptoms...just when I think it is safe to go back in the water, someone gets attacked by a "shark"...I do not know if I can take the worry and stress of these things and show again...the problem is not just the dog in the ring, but they bring everything home to the others...

YorkieRose thanks for answering me. I had no idea show people had to worry about such things. How devestating to loose a show dog to something like that. Very sad.

Deana - thanks so much for letting me know. I had heard one yorkie had passed away form this at the Florida show. I was not aware it was Barbara's boy. It is really scary. We have a show this weekend in Atlanta. Yikes! I did share with my vet about it and gave him the updated information of signs and how to treat. He said he would have given Amoxi. and glad I shared this with him. T.

Is it very common to have the dog show crud virus to spread in the dog show? I can understand the sadness of sudden lost of a dog...

| Oh how sad! I would never have thought that you'd have to worry about such a thing showing dogs b/c I'd just figured they were in the best of best health! It's really sad to lose any dog, but to lose a champion must really be awful, esp. when it's not from old age!
