that's good to know because I know my girl will do well. two of the UKc judges in her first show were really impressed with her and even tho Maude tank turned and walked away without watching her complete her walk after she peed in the ring, handed her a ribbon on the way out of the ring.

I wouldn't worry about Maude, she's seen dogs do worse in the ring. Alot of times they stop watching because they have already made up their minds.

Janice Pardue - warned she will DQ thumbprint in adults.

Mrs. M. Rosalie Anderson - too light but did not DQ for thumbprints in Open.

Raymond V. Filburn Jr - DQ'd 1 too dark this was a 12 month old.

Nancy Smith Hafner - She Dqd a puppy for not being tan enough?

please excuse me for being new to showing, but what do you mean by thumbprints?

I don't show but have been reading this thread with interest as to what the thoughts are about enhancing yorkie haircolor. It's a shame because of the new rulings that exhibitors feel the need to alter the yorkies appearance this way.....but I do understand.

Thumbprints are a small area of silver/blue hair between the eyes that will extend up the forehead.......hair that hasn't changed to tan yet. If I'm correct sometimes it will change to tan and with others it never does.

i thought thumbprints were at the base of the dogs ears in front. oh well, shows how much I know

She said to me, "Oh, she has peed in the ring", then turned on her heel and walked off. i must have looked horrified because the steward brought me some paper towels and said, honey don't worry, you won't be DQ'd." Then Maude handed me a Best Novice Puppy ribbon.

I didn't post the pic of it completely cleared
The second pic was were it faded to silverish before turning to the tan/gold.

Here he is a lil older.
His tan/gold just kept getting darker it is darker than this now, this is one of my favorite pics of him.

Really cute! When does the "thumbprint" develop and when do they fade??? I guess it is hereditary???????
