Pinehaven: In my opinion, this judge was a complete idiot and maybe he was just "trying to prove some sort of point", but this was not just young dogs and most of the exhibitors were 30+ year breeders. He DQ'd one bitch for not being the correct gold/tan on the head. This bitch was a beautiful specimen of the breed and their was nothing wrond with her color. He also DQ'd a bitch that was the exact same beautiful dark steel blue as her cousin in the same class because she was too light in color. One got DQ'd for color, the other of the exact coloring did not. He did not have them stacked on the table, he did not even look at them gait, nothing. So, evidentally, this man is COLORBLIND!! And since the others waiting for their time in the ring saw what was happening pulled their entries there was nothing to put up expect the black Yorkie. The AKC rep was called to the ring and said he would "talk" to this judge. Every exibitor mad that day, even the person whose dog won. But, thanks to the internet, he probably wont have any Yorkies to judge anymore. No one will waste their hard earned money under him. Same with the other 2 known judges DQ'ing for lighter blue. I have talked to a few well known Yorkie handlers/breedes and they say its not that bad, its just the few known judges you dont enter under.YTCA basically made the change to keep the unacceptable/incorrect colors like chocolate and parti and golden out of the ring.

Hey Sugars Mom: Get that baby out in the ring!!!!!!!!!! There isnt that much DQ'ing going on, especially in puppies. Most judges will just not give out the ribbon, not DQ. There are only 3 that I have heard of so far that are being complete jack-a**ses about it.

Mary Trimble finishes small dark dogs around here all the time as does Barbara Stratford. Small and dark is in!!!
AKC or UKC? I am showing her UKC and wouldn't put her in AKC right now due to her color is what I meant. When AKC stops DQ'ing puppies, we will for sure give it a try.

The judges that have DQ'ed with AKC so far that I know of are as follows:
Mr. Filburn - said will DQ puppies
Mrs. Rosliee Anderson (yorkie adult too light)
Mrs. Olmous-Oliver (not sure how it's spelled but she's called Mrs. OO) dog too light from what I was told but not sure.

Mr. Filburn - said will DQ puppies (not sure I'd show to him at all) probably not.
Mrs. Rosliee Anderson (yorkie adult too light) - I'd still show to her I like her.
Mrs. Olmous-Oliver (not sure how it's spelled but she's called Mrs. OO) dog too light from what I was told but not sure. (I'd probably still show to her but not a light dog)

It's on either Infodog.com or onofrio if you'll do a search on show results.

Default You dye your Clothes You Color your Hair

Sorry had to state the above fact.

As a Hair stylist I have to Say Coloring is TOTALLY wrong!! OMG terrible!!

It makes no sense to me. Are you not showing to show you have BOB not look how I colored the hair

I know that when I was a Helper for a Husky shower they did use powerd to Whiten the white areas.. ?? Not sure if this is the same.

Of course it's the same it's called "ENHANCING" anything to alter the color is the same whether it be powder or a liquid...again it's not about color for me it's all about health, structure and movement!

As a former hairstylist myself; I would never color/enhance my dog...and I would never wear make-up, an underwire bra, or pantyhose to make my jeans fit better...Oh, CRAP...shame on me!

I was not present at these shows...so this is secondhand information...

Mrs. Nancy S. Hafner DQ Puppy in the 6-9 Month Puppy Bitch class for the Head not tan enough on 10/20/2007.

Mr. William E. Usherwood...DQ 4 dogs everything from too light in the blue to too dark. Would have to look for the date...

Mr. Raymond Filburn - DQ a 12 month bitch (Open Class) for being "too dark" in the blue. Fellow exhibitors said that the dog had obviously broken blue. This dog took WB the next day

I have a light female that turned 1 at the end of December...prior to the addition of the DQ she received 2 points and one BOB over 4 adult dogs at 8 months old...I was so thrilled...since the DQ was added she has not been DQ...but looked over imo...she has lost to a bad topline and a crippled dog who was not that much darker than she is...but pro handled. I agree get the cake right first, then get the icing perfect! (Just wish the judges agreed with that too!!!) We all want that healthy and sound dog with the perfect head and coat...but that is why breeding is so chanllenging...lol...sooner or later it all comes together!

Small and dark seem to still be doing well with AKC right now, it's the silvery blues that are having a rough time.
