it all depends on the vet i guess, and what type of incision they are going to do to close. Since the tail is bigger, they can't just close it will a stitch and some glue like babies. ummm, i would venture to guess that they'd want the whole tail shaved because they'd at least want a clipper blade in length to ensure enough room to close and keep everything sterile. And seeing that they tail once docked is about that length anyway, there wouldn't really be an area of hair left.

And I know for a fact that they are reputable.
Dee,

You know that screening doesn't always cut it....There have been several breeders on YT that have sold dogs to people they thought they had developed a relationship with via the internet, the buyers were YT members too....some of the breeders suffered and some of the buyers suffered..

I know that it can even happen between those that know each other on a personal basis....but, there is less chance if you buy a dog from someone that you can visit their facilities, put your hands on a dog and develope a relationship with the breeder. Especially when you are purchasing a show or breeding dog.

Default ears

Mary...I think it is the accepted thing in Europe..they do not seem to fault them for it..

I saw an Italian dog once in NY (long time ago)..I was talking to the handler and mentioned the ears were so well set and tiny..honestly they almost touched. The handler told me they all tie ears and we were so silly not to...I was so dumb I had to ask someone what "tied" ears meant...
I do not recall ever seeing a natural ear set as close set as most of those on Sweetblue site...it does make a striking picture. Good ears are very high on my list..

Yes, I know that screening doesn't always cut it. But it helps weed out a bunch. Heck, you know from being on here, that there have been two or three times I have screened YT members, thought they were great had many phone conversations with them, then found stuff out and cancelled the sale and returned their deposits. it has happened to me at least three times right on here. i will cancel a sale in a heartbeat. I guess the point I was trying to make is in regards to the comment that reputable breeders do not sell on puppyfind. Some do. But, I have even encouraged people that have contacted me that it is always better if they can find a breeder close by so they can go and see the puppy. I believe that is still the best way to go but is not always an option.

I remember showing Denny, Ch This Time Grand Slam...his ears are so tight it's unbelievable...don't remember where I was showing him, but it was Jackie Stacy who was judging.....she ran her hands through his top knot so roughly looking to see if they were tied....but, what was so amazing she put up a dog that had huge ears and they were Eastie/Westie....

The point I was attempting to make is just that, it's best to be able to meet your breeder and the breeder meet you, see your dog and be able to put your hands on it....I know where you live it's not a big metropolis....so, it's not always an option......but, it is the best way.

I would never advertise my pups on YT or any other internet source or newspaper. The only thing that will come up with my name with yorkies, is on the YTCA website. My puppies are either sold before they are born or when I have screened buyers from a referral.

Amen to that Donna and I do know that you have a waiting list prior to the breeding.

I learned about tied up ears from Jackie Hungerland... I was showing Taz and when I put him on the table she looked at him and then looked at me and then she ran her fingers just like you said and I asked her, "What are you doing?" (because I had never seen that done before) and she told me she was checking to make sure his ears were not tied up... I hadn't realized that pple did that so I asked my mentor who explained in more detail... She gave me BW...

Good ears are high on my list too...

YorkieNewbie22, may I ask from what country this dogs are?

***
The reason I'm asking , because I just recently got 2 dogs from Russia myself. More or less good breeders in Russia know each other and since they are often go to the dog shows all over the Europe they may know the breeder who is selling this pups.
I also agree, that the fact that this dogs are on a puppyfind.com is not a good sign. It took me more than a year to find the "right"dogs.

The puppies look pretty but you are seeing them advertized online. You don't know for sure if you'll get the same puppy if you were to buy without physically seeing the puppy first. I will say this...I bought Radar without seeing him in person but I knew who I was getting him from. I knew their dogs and their lines and they have been showing for years. That would be the only way I'd buy a dog I didn't see first. Anyway that is my opinion and again I wouldn't advertize my dogs online.

I have had multiple people contact me, or found info on the net with dogs from this kennel and they have been into showing for years and have sold dogs to several people who are very satisfied with the business they have done.

They are from Hungary. What kennel may I ask you got your new dogs from?
