I get mine from Woodpeckers at the dog shows. His wife makes them from the Resco lead. I think that they have a website and you might be able to call them and order over the phone.

I get mine from the Coordinated Canine

You can pick from a variety of colors and the neckpieces are satin.

Good luck!

I got mine from Cynthia at the link posted. Also, I get my hair bands, brushes, combs and other items from her too.

I've also purchased Vellus products from the Woodpeckers people. In fact he told me to call rather than use their website, as the price is better. The phone number on their card is: 1-800-597-6342

Be sure that you notice that these are not leather and are harder to keep a dog on a ringside table arm as the string slips. I'm not sure how you handle that, but I prefer the leather ones.

Those are interesting... I've never seen one with a satin neck piece like that.

Sonja,

I have mine made by Karen Coleman/Magnolia Maltese in Oklahoma....she custom makes them out of satin...each padded neck piece is made in accordance to the size of each dog...whether the dog doesn't like that pad coming around the to the sides of the jaw....and she makes braided satin ones....she also makes them according to your height......very inexpensive....and I love the way the latch/ball stays in place....avoiding it to ease up...keeping the neck loop in place.

Her number is 405-3865466 or 3862591

Thanks Mary... I know Karen, she made me a topknot pillow and knows my mentor really well... I didn't realize that she made leads... I'll try to give her a call when I can talk again... I have completely lost my voice and noone can hear me on the phone right now... Are they made of leather?

Nope, they are entirely made of satin......what I like about them is that she will make the neck piece as narrow and as padded as you want and shorten the length of it.....Her braided ones are entirely of satin. Tahlulah hates a neck piece, so I use the braided satin one on her. And when Ron was showing my Go-Go, I had custom made ones for him and Go-Go

Don't forget to tell her how tall you are.

I had other leads...but switched to Karen's after I found out each dog showed better when they were comfortable with their custom leads.....

Question

are there any restrictions on what kind of leads you can use in the show ring?
