I am just so worried about it as it could spread to her dogs, it is hard to tell from the picture, but i have seen several kinds, and without medication it is hard to clear up. Where in Colorado is she, I live in Colorado also, in Glenwood Springs. I would love to hear from her about your sweet little rescued girl!
Thank you so much for the information. We lived in Grand Junction for about 2 1/2 years ... my husband had a heart attack a year ago and we decided that he would recover better at a lower altitude. We moved back to our home in AL in April. I met my friend, Trish, in Grand Junction and we quickly became joined at the heart ... she is like a sister and it broke my heart to leave her. We had just decided to get our rescue started and now I feel helpless at what little I can do at a distance! We are hoping that when Patrick is better, we can go back to CO.

Bettyeanne ,
You don't have to feel helpless because for me a little thing done + another little thing done = a little one happy in new home . I am proud of the little things you do for the little ones in need .

Default Lily

Thank goodness you got Lily away from those people. It is an unfortunate reality that some shelters, rescues, and some individual rescuers are not the best just as in every situation in life.
First of all, just so everyone is aware, ALL a 501(c)(3) really means is that an organization is non-profit and all donations are tax deductible. They do NOT monitor the activities of the organization.
If I were you, I would contact Animal Control in the area where Lily came from and report this person who was not caring for her. Heaven only knows how many others are/will be suffering the same, if not worse, fate than Lily.
Bless you for caring for this little one!

Bettyanne what a sweetheart she is. Your not the only one living under
a rock, I also thought rescue ment just that, to resuce not to abuse!
Bless you and your friend for doing whatever you can to help these poor
helpless little ones. I am sure she will clean up very nicely she has a very
sweet little face. Add a pretty pink bow some good food and she'll be ready
for a new loving forever home.

Also sending wishes for Patrick that he gets back to his old self real
soon.

I am sure you give her soooooooo much support on the phone and in emails, i have a good friend in Grand Junction that also used to rescue yorkies, she just resently got out of the rescue business as it was just too heartrbreaking for her. I am going to Grand Junction on the 12 th to have 6 of my males neutered that are not in my breeding program, just my wonderful little pets, I love Grand Junction and have several good friends there, if there is ever anything i can do from this end please do not hesitate to ask, i am not that far away, and would love to meet you someday. I admire anyone who takes in those precious little babies and gives them a second chance at life, you are an Angel in my book! I use Dr. Marquis on Broadway for all my surgery's he is the best Surgen in the State of Colo. when it comes to bones!!!! The name of his business is Tiara Rado Animal Hospital, he is the best for any kind of knee or hip sugery, and he recently just learned to do collasped tracia's! I use him for all my Sugery's as he is a perfectionast, and on these little guys he really knows what he is doing. I also use Suzzett at Adobies, for dental, she is so nice and reasonable!

Bettyanne, I also wanted to say how sorry i am that your husband had a heart attach, and I will have him in my prayers for a peaceful and long life.

I also know that you are doing so much for Trish just by being there, and giving her advice and support which is so important in the rescue business, it is so hard to see what people just give up on, it is heartbreaking to see a little girl in that shape, but when you get her back on her feet, you are both Angels that contributed to her recovery, a good friend is always such a great comfort in a time of need, so never undermine how important you are as a team in the rescue business, and how support and good friendship is soooooooo sometimes the difference between saving a life, or giving up on it. I have great admiremation for both of you!!!

Lily has been there since January!! She has been so starved that all the fat is gone from her little body and the muscle was beginning to go. She was so emaciated and weak that her little legs shook when she walked and she could hardly squat to pee!!! She has kennel cough and although we were told that she is 9 months old, we think she is maybe 3-4 years old. She has gnawed on one of her feet until it's a big sore and although we've had her nails trimmed, they look like claws. Her teeth are really dirty ... she was never seen by a vet [they do their own diagnosing and medicating, even tooth extraction!] and you have to pay their fee in cash and get no receipt. But, you know what?? Right now, none of what they did or didn't do really matters. The thing that matters is that she's been rescued from them and will soon, hopefully, be on the road to recovery. Trish is taking her to our vet and I pray that there is nothing more serious wrong with her and she will soon be the beautiful little girl that we see when we look at her. Poor baby doesn't even have a clue what a toy is but Trish's little pack will have her playing and socialized pretty quick. Just wanted to give you all a peek at this little sweetheart "before" and hopefully very soon, show you the little Princess inside all that sadness, "after". Please pray that We will find a way to keep helping these babies .... one Yorkie at the time!!
Sooooo ... here's Lily!!
1. Lily with her crusty little nose ... she looks so sad!

2. You can see her little backbone sticking up.

3. Her little paw that she has gnawed ... look at those nails!!

4. Lily, on the right, compared to Shira!
That's horrible. Poor baby. Please tell us the name and address of this animal rescue organization.

My Goodness!!! I can't believe you go to Tiara Rado!! Bob Marquis is my vet too. He operated on both of Shira's knees! The best surgery ever...... she's perfect now, can even jump! I love that clinic and that's where I take all my rescues too. They are about the most expensive in the valley, but well worth it to me. Kills me when all six need dentals there, though! What is Adobies? Haven't heard of it.

Believe me I've made sure that they have had a visit from the people who can do something, including the state veterinarian. They are currently under investigation. When I saw the condition that Lily was in, I made a point of doing all I could to get them stopped.

Hi Donna, Is Resizole a prescription? I'm not sure of what it is..... it's a lot better now, but not healing fast enough. Bob said it looked like an old injury that she'd been chewin on and got infected. All the swelling is gone now, but it still looks awful. Poor little girl. She's doing so much better now. Still very nervous and timid but she loves to sit in our laps and sleep in our bed! Potty training is becoming quite a challenge! LOL

What a small world!!!!!!! We all have to get together!!!!!!! I don't know if i spelled Adobes's right but it is in GJ. and is the least expensive for dentals, also group discounts, and senior discounts. is also in Grand Junction, and Suzette is a great Vet, and give's discounts for the above.

I am soooooooooo glad you also use Dr. Marquis (Bob) he is the best, but also the most expensive, but you know your pets will surive the surgery and it will be done right!!!!! I just have used him for the last 12 years, he saved the lives of 2 of my yorkies that got food poisioning, he is my hero, and i never have to worry when a pet of mine is in his care. He is just the very best Vet in the state of Colorado!!!!!!
I am so glad you also use him. I will be their on the 12 th to neuter 6 of my males, 49.00 each!!!!!! I will than do all my tiny girls, as he is the only one in the world i would trust with a 3 lb. dog. I have all the confidence in the world with him. I am so glad you also use him!!! We will have to get together sometime, maybe on the 12th as i have to spend the day in Grand Junction!!! .

Default You two are the best

I used to work in Va with Pets 4 U rescue and I saw alot of things which caused my husband and I to adopt only rescued babies our last rescue was with a year and a half old Rotten Rottie he was a whopping 45 lbs when we got him we had moved to Maryland due to Military from Florida and got a call from a lady in florida who told us about this lil boy needless to say today he is in NC weighing in at 96 lbs and doing good, we couldnt keep him ourselves due to my health I can not do big babies any more just little ones which is why I got Nina my heaven sent baby girl she is 5 months old and weighing in at 5 1/2 lbs the vet told me she will be a big girl.
do you guys take donations for the babies? please email me and let me know I can't do monies right now due to a move coming up next week and its only my husband working right now but I do want to help in the future if possible.
Please post pictures of this little girl getting better .. I sat and cried when I read this which hubby is upset at me because due to my heart and cancer he doesnt like me upset.
God Bless you both and all who rescues for the love of it not the greed of it.

Yes it is, you can only get it from your Vet, and he would want to check out the dog first to make sure it is ring worm. The test sometimes takes over two weeks, and they also have a red light, I think that they run over the spot to detect it eariler. It is a leave on lotion, and heals ring worm in no time. Do not use Malaseb Shampoo, or Resizole for young puppies, it can kill them. Young is 4 to 12 weeks, I can't remember, you would need to check with your vet. Please know how glad i am she is doing so much better. I bet she is nervous, these poor little ones do not do well without their owners to love them, sounds like she is really getting the Royal Treatment. Potty training is always a challenge with these little ones. YOU might have to put a diaper on her, while you are not able to watch her every move. Were you able to ask Bob if it could possibly be ring worm? I am so worried that it may be, I would sleep sooooo much better if I knew what was going on with her little foot, and was assured that it is not..
