It's really sad that all they had to do was feed her and give her some TLC and they didn't even do that. I'm just so glad that she has found her way to you and is on the road to recovery.

What a wonderful thing you are doing for these babies. I hope Lily goes to someone here on YT so we can see her thrive in the beautiful sweet girl that she is.

That poor, sweet baby. How could anyone be so cruel? Thank goodness for people like you. I pray that Lily finally has a happy, healthy life with people that love her.

Wow, that honestly just made me cry.

You are a great person with a big heart for doing what you are doing now.

Missy (we bought her from a pet shop) also looked extremely looked in bad condition when we first saw her. She didn't look groomed at all, and just simply looked unhappy. I can see why she was... God knows how long she was in that little space that was given to her, with a roommate to share. She was extremely skinny and just looked unhealthy. And THAT is why we chose her out of all the other puppies that looked in perfect shape than her. It's like she is in heaven with us now.... we show her loving and care 24/7

Continue to do what you do.... God bless you!!

I just talked to Trish and little Lily is continuing to thrive! Amazing what good food, exercise and most importantly, lots of love, can do!! It's hard to believe that there are so many out there needing just that!

God bless you for finding your Missy!! Sounds like she is certainly living the life she deserves! My son has a Border Collie, also named Missy, who had a pitiful beginning. He had gone to a local lake/park at lunch one day and when he finished his lunch, he threw his trash in the dumpster there. He heard a noise in the dumpster and when he raised the lid ... there were two little tiny Border Collie puppies!! Someone had just thrown them away like so much garbage!!! He, of course, jumped right in and got them out. They were hungry, skinny and flea infested. He took them back to work and one of the ladies in the office immediately took one of them. My daughter-in-law stopped off to see him and she [not an animal person at all] took the other one home with her! That was years ago and Missy has lived the life that even spoiled Yorkies would envy!! She has never, ever spent a night outside the house ... sleeps with my son and is, without a doubt, the most intelligent dog I have ever seen!! She is getting old and arthritic now and I worry so much about my son when she has gone to Rainbow Bridge. She is his constant, worshipful companion. We still call her our "Dumpster Dog"!! You just never know when you look at some of these pitiful, skinny, dirty little ones, what gem is inside!

Lily has been there since January!! She has been so starved that all the fat is gone from her little body and the muscle was beginning to go. She was so emaciated and weak that her little legs shook when she walked and she could hardly squat to pee!!! She has kennel cough and although we were told that she is 9 months old, we think she is maybe 3-4 years old. She has gnawed on one of her feet until it's a big sore and although we've had her nails trimmed, they look like claws. Her teeth are really dirty ... she was never seen by a vet [they do their own diagnosing and medicating, even tooth extraction!] and you have to pay their fee in cash and get no receipt. But, you know what?? Right now, none of what they did or didn't do really matters. The thing that matters is that she's been rescued from them and will soon, hopefully, be on the road to recovery. Trish is taking her to our vet and I pray that there is nothing more serious wrong with her and she will soon be the beautiful little girl that we see when we look at her. Poor baby doesn't even have a clue what a toy is but Trish's little pack will have her playing and socialized pretty quick. Just wanted to give you all a peek at this little sweetheart "before" and hopefully very soon, show you the little Princess inside all that sadness, "after". Please pray that We will find a way to keep helping these babies .... one Yorkie at the time!!
Sooooo ... here's Lily!!
1. Lily with her crusty little nose ... she looks so sad!

2. You can see her little backbone sticking up.

3. Her little paw that she has gnawed ... look at those nails!!

4. Lily, on the right, compared to Shira!
May God Bless you for taking her in!!!!! I was looking at her crusty toe, and it could be ring worm, i would have the vet do a smear, if it is ring worm you do not want her around other dogs, it takes about to weeks to find out, or the vet can run a light over it and tell at the office, please let me know, i hope it is not.

Thank you so much! When Trish took her to our vet, he examined it and said it's an old wound that wasn't treated and her chewing at it caused it to become infected. It's being treated and Trish says it's healing really well. Poor Lily ... all she needed was a little attention and some food and she wouldn't have been in that condition. Trish says that she is absolutely thriving and her little personality is beginning to emerge! She says that Lily is the sweetest little thing! All she needed was good food, a little medical attention and loads of TLC!!

You both have the kindest hearts, and I am so glad to hear she is doing so well under your loving care.

I have seen many kinds of ring worm, and it does get crusty, and the crust comes off and it can spread, you can treat it with, (Brand name ) Virbac, and it is called Resizole, it is a leave on pink lotion treatment, and it should go away in a few weeks, that is how ring worm starts as a scab, and it looks infected and crusty, and will bleed when the scab comes off and almost leave a hole, the Resizole will clear it up in no time., it is not bad if that is the only spot, but it does spread quite easily, especially if she was stressed in the past. To be on the safe side, as you do not want spores in your home with your babies, i would defineatly ask the Vet what he thought, especially if it does not heal, if left alone and it does not spread, it will go away on it's own in about 6 months, if treated it is gone in about a week, the Resizole kills the spores so it can not spread and you put it on 2 or 3 times a day. While at the Vet you might also pick up some Malaseb Shampoo, to shampoo her in one time a week as she is so little, and that will also kill any spores that might be remaining, so it can not spread, the spores are not visible with the naked eye, i am going to take another look at her foot, it also takes away all the surrounding hair, i have worked with a lot of Vets, and gone to a lot of dog shows where it can easily be picked up, and it does look like ring worm to me. Better safe than sorry. Please let me know what the Vet says, i would think she would be knawing at her nails as they are so long and it does not look like she has, she can pick up ring worm from the ground, floating in the air, it is everywhere. The spores can live up to 17 months. Again i can't tell you how wonder full you both are for taking that sweet little girl in, she probably thinks she is in heaven, she is just a little doll, and i am so glad you recused her, and she is in your care, she really is a cute and deserving little girl, Many blessings to both of you!!!!! We need more people like you in this world.

I just looked at her foot with a magnifing glass, and it does really look like ring worm, when all the hair starts growing back the ring worm is gone. It looks like the hair is missing on the top of her foot, please let me know what the Vet thinks, their are so many different kinds that sometimes it is hard to spot. Some just take away the hair, and others leave a raised bump that gets crusty, comes off bleeds underneath, and there is a slight hole, the Resizole lotion will heal it in no time, when the hair grows back the ring worm is gone. I am just so worried about it as it could spread to her dogs, it is hard to tell from the picture, but i have seen several kinds, and without medication it is hard to clear up. Where in Colorado is she, I live in Colorado also, in Glenwood Springs. I would love to hear from her about your sweet little rescued girl!
