| That was a lot to read so I'm printing it out so I can finish looking at it. I would really like to look more into the accusations, they are heartwrenching. Some of these should've been reported, there are to many agencies that will do something about people who mistreat animals of any kind.

| That is horrible. And Im sure hoping most of it is made up in that story. I would hate to beleive that a rescue group would ever behave like that, past or present, especially in Illinois. Ugh if thats the case Im moving. |

| Her thoughts on vets is spot on. Last year, when my cat started walking sideways, I contacted the regular vet I had been using for 2 years and had just spent $1,000 for treatment for my dog. I told him that I did not have much money, but that I wanted to be put on a payment plan to treat Nilla. His response: We're a business and we have to make money. If you don't have the money, perhaps you might consider euthanasia." HE HAD NEVER EVEN SEEN HER YET FOR HER SYMPTOMS. This was all done over the phone prior to bringing her in. I felt sick to my stomach. THIS is the man who had been treating my yorkie, Tahoe, for two years? I let that disgusting uncaring man treat my dog. He knew I could pay him over time. My sister adopted a dog two years ago and was told he had received all his shots. He contracted Parvo anyway. She found a vet nearby and when she was told that treatment was going to cost thousands of dollars, she cried "All I have is $350". This vet, God Bless him, said "Okay, here's what we'll do....I'll get you whatever prescriptions you need and the IV fluids and I'll show you how to give him the fluids yourself at home to keep him hydrated and we'll do whatever we can for the $350." Her dog, Trinity, completely recovered and he's a wonderful dog. THIS is a good vet. So, when I called my sister crying about my vet, she referred me to her vet. I met with him and told him "Listen, I have a good job and the ability to pay over time, but just not right now. I just spent $1000 on Tahoe and I'm a little strapped." He put me on a payment plan and we treated Nilla who, unfortunately, died of an aneurysm at home a few weeks later. He had given me the fluids to give her because she wouldn't eat herself. I took them home, I administered them, but she was beyond repair. He did bloodwork, tests, and everything he could. When I brought her in after she died, I could see the pain in his eyes...he tried so hard. It broke my heart but I knew that I did absolutely everything I could to treat her. A week later, my other cat, Oreo, began exhibiting the same symptoms. I brought her in immediately and he was able to determine she had a tumor in her ear. He said "Kelly, we're going to do everything to save her. Time was not on our side with Nilla. But we will save Oreo." There was a treatment that required surgery and he said it was very expensive, but he thought he could do another treatment that was ininvasive to cut out the tumor and wouldn't cost a tenth of what the surgery would cost. He did the procedure and she's been great ever since. I paid them in full over the next 6 months and I swear by this man and refer him to everyone. So, because of his good heart, he has a lifetime customer and I refer him to everyone, so I also bring him business. So, in the long run, his kind-heartedness is repaid ten times over. I wish everyone was like this, but they're not. If you find someone like this, you keep him. ~ Kelly Chandler, AZ |

| I feel the same way about my vet. I had been going to a vet here in town, who was only in it for money. Everytime we brought our dog in for shots she would ask to do some kind of new trial surgery or make up some new symptom that my dog "suppossedly" had. But I met this new vet from friends who I absolutly adore. He has given me medicine for free and have done procedures for less and so on. He even called me at home after my Louie had a reaction to his shots. His prices on just the office call is half it would have been at the other vet's office. Sometimes, smaller vet offices are worth going to.

| My problem is, I have not found a vet with a heart of gold yet and I needed one like that.
