| 6-year-old male Yorkie with diabetes looking for new home My mother has 4 dogs (2 shih tzu's and 2 Yorkie's.) The Yorkie is a great dog but my mom can't take care of him anymore. He is lively and very friendly. He loves his walks and sleeps in in the morning. He is just more then my mom can handle with 3 other dogs and work and volunteering. He gets a diabetes shot in the morning and at night. He is very cooperative when it comes to the shot. He does have allergies but they are controlled by an allergy pill, ear drops and eye drop each morning. Because the diabetes is not totally under control he will occasionally pee on the kitchen floor, otherwise he is trained on wee wee pads. He is neutered and has been micro chipped as well. He would be best in a home with someone who can give him a more attention. Great with kids and other animals as well. He loves to sit in my dad's lap as he reads the paper and plays well with the other dogs. We don't want to put him in a shelter but would prefer someone who can give him the attention he deserves. He would be great for a retired person who would love the company and loves to nurture others or someone who works from home and wants some companionship. He is located on Long Island in New York and we are willing to work on a trial basis if needed. |

| There is a Yorkie rescue in New York that you should look into as you need to find someone willing to take on the expenses of a dog with multiple issues and they will be very careful about screening applicants. I am sorry that you are having to rehome a dog with issues after 6 years with you...poor Yorkie. I hope he finds a loving home. http://www.yorkie911rescue.com/

| I am planning on contacting that rescue but thought someone on this forum might have an interest. Thanks for your warm thoughts |
