| Found a senior yorkie My dh was at the auto parts store and when he got out of his truck he saw this little yorkie walking down the side of the highway. Cars were zooming by inches away from her and he thought she was going to be hit for sure before he could get to her. He tried calling her but when he did that she actually started to walk out into the traffic. It was a very nerve wracking few minutes, but he was able to get to her. He went inside the auto parts store and asked for an empty box to put her in because she smelled horrid and was covered in fleas. He took these two photos and sent them to me asking what he should do? I said bring her home and I would clean her up and give her a nice warm place to stay while we look for her owners. Here are the pics he sent me of her: http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/r...r/IMG_7254.jpg http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/r...r/IMG_3611.jpg She was cold wet and scared when he brought her in. It has been raining pretty much all day here in Delaware. I gave her a bath and did my best to remove some of the major matts she had in her fur. This poor dog is definitely older she olny has 2 teeth and they look really bad. I don't think she has been cared for very well, but I am trying not to judge as I don't know how long she has been lost and on her own? She had a bad case of fleas and has thinning hair on her back. I am keeping her down stairs and trying to keep Tinkerbell away from her until I have taken her to a vet or the shelter. I don't know what to do. She seems like such a sweet girl and I do not want to leave her at the shelter. I think I am going to stop by the shelter in the morning just to have her scanned to see if she has a chip and talk to them about it. I hadn't planned on getting another Yorkie at this time, but sometimes things happen for a reason and my dh and I think this little girl had a guardian angel that maybe kept her safe until my dh found her. If she has owners then maybe they will have stopped by the shelter looking for her. I would appreciate any advice as I have never gone through this process before. Thanks. |

| Bless her sweet little heart. I don't really have any advice for you, but just wanted to say how lucky you are to be married to a man that would stop and help this little one. Bless you both for saving this precious baby...and I agree with you, sometimes things do happen for a reason and we may never know why, but it seems as though this baby surely needed you! |

| Bless her sweet little heart. Poor little baby is probably so scared & confused being away from her mommie and her own bed, her own food & food bowl, toys, etc. Poor little darling. I pray you can find her home so she can get back to the lady who is likely going nuts trying to find her baby. I know if Tibbe were missing I would be crazy - just crazy. Please do have her scanned as you never know.

| Oh my what an absolutely adorable little girl she is. Thank heavens for your husband for picking up this sweet baby. Thank you for allwoing her to come to your home. You can take her by the Shelter and have her scanned for a chip or your Vet Office can scan her. You can out up found posters in the area she was found and see if any one responds. You can also check Craigs List for your area and see if any one has listed in the Lost and Found area. Thank heavens she has a warm place to stay and food to eat now. Again I have to say she is just adorable. You can also contact a Rescue Group and she if they will take her in.

| I took a couple of photos of her relaxing on my sofa tonight. She is such a sweet dog. I feel so bad for her. She really needs some grooming attention, but I did not want to overwhelm her at first. I am definitely going to do my best to locate her owners, but I must admit that I don't think they were taking very good care of her |

| Bless you and your husband what a wonderful thing you all have done! She is a doll and looks so comfortable on the sofa. It warms my heart to know she has a happy and safe home to sleep in tonight.

| The owners were found this morning. I had called a rescue this morning and they were sure that this dog had been reported missing. I sent him photos and it is a match. They are coming to pick her up around 12 noon today. They said she had been missing for a week. I am happy that she will be reunited |

| Wonderful ending to a wonderful story!!! Thank you for saving this poor little lost soul and keeping her safe until she could be reunited with her family! I can not imagine how frightened and confused that baby was during this past week, wandering the streets. She slept safe and sound last night! Bless you and your husband for that! |

| I am happy the owners were found. I can only imagine how confused and lonely this old girl was. She was in bad shape when my dh found her. At least I was able to give her a good bath and give some relief from the fleas. I hope it is appropriate for me to suggest to her owners that she needs some vet care and some grooming. Her nails are really long and she still has some matted hair on her feet. I didn't feel I should try to do too much with her last night. The two remaining teeth in her mouth are rotten and look like they need to come out. Do you all think it is okay for me to gently and politely suggest these things? |
