| Two Seniors need home (Yorkies Inc) Normally we do not post on YT for our rescues...but we will be taking in a senior pair of Yorkies on Saturday, and figured they could use as much exposure as possible. Sammy is a 4 lb 16 year old male Yorkie and his sister Sydney is 7 lbs and also 16 years old. Yes, they are 16 years old and now needing a new home to live the rest of their lives in. Both are "healthy" but because of age they no longer can hold their bladders like they use to so they need to be taken outside more frequently. (They had been kenneled 8 hours a day but now cannot go that long without needing to be let out. Who would ever expect any little one to wait that long never mind two seniors) Their eyesight is not as good as it use to be but they can get around fine. We are not sure about their teeth yet, but if they need dentals and it is safe for them to have them done Yorkies Inc will have it done. If you are interested in adding a sweet pair of pups into your life please let us know as their current owners are moving out of state and do not want to take them with them. They took them to the vets this month but the vet thought even thought they were slowing down they still had a quality of life and did not want to put them to sleep. Once we have them on Saturday we will be taking them to the vets and we will have more information.... I will try to post pictures of them...but my computer always gives me a problem. We have put them on our facebook page( Yorkies Inc. | Facebook ) hoping to have a new home all set for them so it would be one less transition but as of right now they are they are still looking for a new home together. We do have one possible person who may take them, but incase it falls through I thought I would post here. Please keep them in your thoughts that they find their new forever family where they can spend their remaining time loved for who they are.

| Yes, as soon as we posted on YT someone came forward (from a friend on Facebook) to adopt them...so we are very happy....we are now getting them tomorrow to get them vetted and then they will be going right to their new home so one less transition for them. If they need dentals and vet feels they should have them then their new family will take them and Yorkies Inc will pay the bill.... We are so happy for them and hope this works out as the people adopting them already have two other small dogs.... so continue to send happy positive thoughts to these two...

| That's great! They have lived so long already! Lucky babies. Mine died at 8 yrs and 1 died at 10. Too short. I miss them so. Too bad the original owners couldn't let them finish out their lives with them tho. I love yorkie babies!

| I'm so glad they have found a home, that's really great news. I can't believe they are 16, that's a really good age for a Yorkie! Hope mine live that long I love them so much.

| This story brought tears to my eyes. Thank God for Yorkies Inc and the work they do to help these little ones! Two little 16 years olds whose family doesn't want them anymore - heartless ppl! So glad to hear they got adopted by kind souls who will give them a furever home!

| Our 16-yr. old Yorkie also needs a retirement home I am so happy to hear about the two 16-yr. old Yorkies getting a home. I have recently joined this post because we are in a similar situation, and do not know where to turn. Our sweet 5lb. male Yorkies is also 16 and starting to have bladder problems as well as taking medication for congestive heart failure. We both are gone most of the day and are traveling more, but cannot take him with us. We will soon be moving and are looking for someone to care for him in his last years; someone who can be with him most of the day and evening. We live in the Sacramento area and are hoping 'not' to put him down, but find a loving home where he can get the attention he loves and needs. It is the hardest thing we have ever done, but feel he deserves the rest of his life to be attended to, and not left alone so often. We had our Vet Hospital and our wonderful, caring staff at WAG hotels spread the word as well. Please help if you can ... |
