| I have to rehome Halo Last June Halo was diagnosed with Addison's disease. Because of the meds shes on, in my opinion, she constantly attacks one of my other yorkies. I have 6 yorkies total, but she only picks on TJ. In the last month, I've had him at the vets office twice, and she just attacked him again. I don't understand why she picks on only him. Anyway, as sad as it makes me, its not fair to TJ to be constantly scared. When I talked to the vet about this, he really has no solution except to keep them seperated. Even if I rehomed TJ, because Halo is sick and on medication, who's to say she wouldn't turn on one of the others. Halo is my teapot, at 12 lbs......the others range from 3 lbs to 9 lbs; so she could really do harm to the little one. I'm really looking for help here.......do I have a chance of rehoming her? Is there a rescue that might take her in? I have been keep her harnessed up... with a leash attached, but she got away from me a few minutes ago. I can't watch her all the time. I'm at my wits end and really need help.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I am sorry to hear about Halo. I understand your concern. My rescue Nikki goes after Cali all the time. Once in awhile he will attack Roxie but he never goes after Pixie. He will even let Pixie lay with him now. Nikki doesn't have any teeth so he can't really hurt my girls and they do not attack him back. I have to be on alert all the time to catch him before he attacks. If he had teeth I don't know what I would have done since he could have really hurt my others. If you have to rehome her hopefully you can find a home where she is the only dog. I know it is a very difficult decision and I hope you can find a good solution.

| Patti, thanks for your response. It's nice to know that someone does understand. However, when I told DH about my post, he said absoutely not. Halo is sick and she needs us. We are going to have to do a better job of focusing on what sets her off. I've got the expen set up in the living room now. She will be put in there when we are not home. When I'm here, she'll be attached to me. Maybe things will be better.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | That's good news. I can usually stop Nikki as he usually tenses up and stares intently at her for a few seconds. His trigger is Cali coming near me on the bed. I try and pet Nikki when Cali is coming near him and most times it settles him back down. The good thing is it doesn't seem to bother Cali. I hope it gets better for you all.

| Did you talk to your vet about your concern with the meds causing aggression?

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I know when my girls are barking a lot of squeeking a toy for a long time, Nikki gets very agitated and will go on the attack if Cali is near him. I can't figure out why he goes after Cali almost exclusively. He has gone after Roxie a few times and never after Pixie. Pixie is the alpha dog so that maybe why. I hope you can figure out her triggers.

| The vet I used to take Princess to had a Dog Behaviorist (or called something similar), I wonder if you could find one close to you that could maybe evaluate the specific situations and recommend what actions should take place? Good Luck!

| Are you looking to rehome the pup? I am looking for a yorkie to take in. I don't professionally train dogs but it is a strong gift of mine. I helped my mom with her two dogs and my sister and sister in law with training. They are all very well behaved now. If you are looking for help training your pup I may be able to help. The aggression is bad and needs your full attention. Fighting dogs don't see you as pack leader, which you should always be. Message me if you have any questions. |
