| I would suggest looking on Petfinder. Good luck in your search!

| Thanks! I have looked on there before, but was a little unsure about places asking a several hundred dollar fee. Is this normal for adopting a yorkie? |

| Yes! Take a look at this: Yorkie Haven Rescue Adoption Fees When you adopt from a reputable rescue, your pup should be fully vetted! If you purchase a pup, you have to pay for spay/neuter and exams and shots...dental if deciduous teeth need to be extracted. There should be no surprises with a rescue.

| Thanks for the link! I feel alot better about the decision to adopt now! I didn't know any of that and was just concerned some people may be "exploiting" unfortunate yorkies. I know that probably sounds silly, but I'd hate to support something like that. Thank you again!! |

| Thank you again so much!! I will be keeping my eyes open. As much as I want to get Dakota a brother now...I think it may be better to wait until this summer or after I graduate. I will have more "home" time this summer, but I will have more "funds" after I graduate. Thank you again for all your help. |

| I have been wanting to get Dakota a "brother"...our puppy obedience trainer said getting a male would be better as sometimes females don't get along. She also told me getting a younger yorkie would help Dakota adjust better. I was wondering what opinions/suggestions yorkie talk family had?? Is it better to have a male and female..or two females? I think Dakota is lonely and needs someone to play with (other than mommy and daddy ). She doesn't really play outside anymore...she mostly just lays in the yard and watches everything. I want her to be happy..but am a little worried she may feel less important/loved..I know I probably sound crazy. |

| Hi I think its a very good idea to adopt a new little friend for your little yorkie. I had two females together for some years. But unfortunately i had a 7yr difference which was to great. My elder yorkie Gemma didn't take to her new sister for about 6mths..but after that all was fine. I prefer little girls...it maybe because I had 3 son's so now I have my daughter's I am going to visit an elderly lady tomorrow, who has to move into a retirement home and can't take her little girl.. She is very upset about this but is looking for a home for her little yorkie. So I am visiting her with the intention of adopting her little yorkie. She is 5yrs old & my little yorkie is 8 1/2. My husband has a little dachund..so this little thing will have to get used to a little family of furry sister's. Good luck with your search your's in gorgeous yorkies avebo |
