♥ Catherine My Love ♥ Donating Member | Brothers, 8 years old, need a forever home About 2 weeks ago we had a family surrender their Yorkies to us, Lilo and Stitch. They were born July 1 2002 and are neutered. I have their breeder info, but nothing on parents and no registration papers, etc. I haven't yet attempted to contact the breeder. From a simple internet search, it looks like they originally came from this woman: http://www.yorkiesplus.com They are UTD on shots. Anyway, Lilo and Stitch had potty training issues, which is why their family needed to surrender them. I am fostering them now, but I think it is safe to say it is okay to start looking for a home for them. They have done GREAT with potty training here with us (though someone is home 24 hours a day and they can go in and out of the house in to the fenced back yard as they please). We haven't had an accident since the first day they came home with us. We have also been working on walking on a lead and they are doing very well. They are currently on medication for chronic earmites (which we are treating for another 3 weeks). Lilo has scarring from a previous hematoma on his right ear - it causes him no issues and will not require surgery. Stitch has a cyst on his left ear that we have not yet determined the origin of, but it causes him no problems and we will get that checked out again at his next appointment. They are both in the 9 - 10 pound range (Lilo is taller, but Stitch is fatter). They are EXTREMELY well behaved! They are VERY sweet and quite energetic. They love to play, like to cuddle, love to be held, are good with kids, cats, and other dogs. They are sweet as can be and would do just great with any family that will love and care for them. I will not separate them. They HAVE to go to a new home together. I would prefer to place them in a home where someone is home all the time, or at least where they would have limited time alone. Also, would obviously prefer a home with a fenced yard. If anyone is interested, please PM me or email sarah@yorkieshampoo.com. I do not want to put them on a plane, so a local family or someone willing to travel to us is a necessity.

♥ Catherine My Love ♥ Donating Member | Sad news, Stitch needs hip surgery. We aren't sure what we are going to do now, but I am thinking about the possibility of placing Lilo and Stitch separately. It is likely that Stitch will need long-term care to undergo the surgery and to be rehabilitated. I am really sad about the whole situation. I am going to be posting info on our website at Yorkie Rescue: Yorkies of Walnut Hill Pure Bred Yorkshire Terrier Rescue and on our facebook cause page at Walnut Hill Yorkie Rescue | causes.com I will probably also be setting up a donation link through paypal since Stitch's care is going to be rather expensive....

♥ Catherine My Love ♥ Donating Member | Just an update - Stitch is going in tomorrow for surgery and will be back on Monday. We MAY have found a local home for Lilo. Just want to reiterate that I will post updates on our website: Yorkie Rescue: Yorkies of Walnut Hill Pure Bred Yorkshire Terrier Rescue Also, we have decided that if we can find Lilo a forever home we will be keeping Stitch forever. We have fallen in love with him (and Lilo, too). But, he and Lilo need to be in separate homes. Lilo was much calmer and more well behaved when Stitch was over night at the vet, and Stitch is much calmer when he is away from Lilo. So, I hate to break them apart, but I think it's better for them. Of course, if we find Lilo a local home, then we can have play dates often!

♥ Catherine My Love ♥ Donating Member | Update Stitch just came home from the vet's abut an hour ago! He is doing very well, but we have to keep him confined for a while. He is doing very well though and the vet is very optimistic about his recovery. She also showed me the "ball" she removed form his hip, it was the smaller than an M&M - very tiny.

♥ Catherine My Love ♥ Donating Member | Just wanted to let everyone know that Stitch is recovering VERY well. He gets a little stronger every day. The boys are doing great, settled in well, and it is craziness around here most days, LOL. But, we are enjoying it!
