| Will adopt If you know of an male or female less than about three years old that is not fixed and is in Nevada or California where I can get at them, please let me know. If you know of any in other states, but we can get them to me, I would also be interested. Thanks. |

| No reputable rescue would adopt intact dogs...they understand we have to many dogs already. If you are not breeding for the betterment of the dog then please don't breed.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I am kind of butting in here, however, I wanted to say that in your other thread - you mentioned you are wanting to breed more dogs -- and I think that is kind of contradictory to the philosophy of "Rescue Organizations", who are usually very interested in decreasing breeding. Just an fyi as this is the Rescue section.

| Breeding and rescues I have adopted a lot of rescue dogs just to make sure they have good homes, and the rescue receives some of the money, and because I know some times if they can't find a good home for them they might dispose of them. I also know that even in no kill rescues the overcrowding can be dangerous. Here in Las Vegas the shelter had to dispose of 1000's of animals who all caught the same virus from over crowding. My last dog I adopted was a pomeranian about 5 years ago. When he was rescued, he was not fixed. I pleaded with them not to fix him because I wanted to have him make pupplies and get him a girlfriend but they insisted they would not let me adopt him without him being fixed. For this reason, I know that not all dogs brought into rescues and shelters are fixed to begin with. I understand they do it on the fear the dog will get out and indescriminately breed. But that is not the case with me. Every dog I have owned and adopted since I was 8 and I am now 48 years old I have cared for until they died a ripe old age. The yorkie I took care of after my mom's death lived another three years with me until he was 16 years old. He was not fixed and I tried to breed him - but he just couldn't seem to figure out which end he was supposed to chase! We had him from birth to 16 so I learned about a lot of the issues purebreds tend to have and how to care for them. But I am looking for a starter male and female to get started to breed yes. If breeders won't allow me to have them, I am thinking that if one strayed into a rescue or shelter that hasn't been fixed yet, then I want them to know I would come down right away in order to give it a good home. Yes I know often breeders only do so to improve the quality of the breed. While I agree with that (or I would do what the inmate programs do and just use any mutt for the program), I also know how well the women I work with respond to yorkies. They also have a lot of anxiety and like to take their dogs everywhere with them - so I am thinking after they get adopted yorkies are the kind welcomed anywhere when a woman goes out. I will producing a documentary about this and doing a lot of press about it. Through this the yorkie will get a lot of good exposure which I believe will also help the breed itself by educating people about the reasons why I chose yorkies for this because of those special qualities. I think the PR, tbe documentary and the weekly videos I will post on our site and youtube about our progresss will greatly increase public awareness about the yorkie and thu benefit them as well. I am just looking for any avenue right now to get my first pair so I can get this project started. I also know somewhere along the line there may be a yorkie that needs a good home and I want all those avenues to know I am ready and available. |

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | You seem to have a lot of money, why don't you use that money and set up grants for the girls, sending them to grooming school, teaching and facilitating starting their own dog walking business, dog sitting and so on? instead of trying to teach them how to take adventage of a poor dog? just my humble here.. |

Exactly......rescues are looing for GOOD homes. I am beginning to question your real motives. Might just be the suspicious part of my nature, but this all sounds a bit incredulous.

| Really what kind of person knows thousands of dogs are being put down and still want to start a breeding buisness also if you think theese dogs will help those ladies then why don't you just rescue lots of yorkies from a shelter for them then your really saving lives not adding to canine confusion |

No shelter or rescue would ever not fix a dog they are trying to STOP the over population of animals. Why do you think Yorkies need more PR ?????? NO WAY SHOULD YOU BE BREEDING!!! I hope you are just kidding

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I am closing this thread. It is not respectful to the spirit of Rescue and to all those who dedicate *so* much time, effort, money, and emotion to the endeavor to allow an advertisement which seeks "breeding dogs". Thank you.
