| puppymill raid rescues Hi everyone! I haven't been on in a while! Since the last time I was on, I have accepted a position as director of animal control for my county. Three weeks ago we raided a puppymill and took 217 dogs. They were FINALLY released to us on friday and are currently listed on petfinder. There are 4 yorkie puppies..... I have had an overwhelming number of applications for those...but there are also several adult yorkies. I haven't recieved many for those yet. They have only been listed for less than 24 hours, and will probably stay on until this friday (we are being very picky about who we adopt these babies to). I wanted to let all of you know about them. I don't know how to cut and paste a link but our zip code is 35160 if you want to do a search. Thanks, Jess p.s. all of the dogs that are not adoptable at this time whether due to health, temperment, etc. have been released to rescue groups!

| My hats off to you!!!! I would love to do something like that. I would like to even volunteer...wish I lived closer. I'm in OK and haven't had any big puppymill busts yet, but if we do and I'm aware of them, I will be there volunteering. I would love to foster, the puppy mill babies are one of my favorite to foster. The progress that they can make with a little patience and time is amazing and so rewarding to see the sweet babies they can be. Again, thank you for doing what you do. |

| Congratulation on your new position and your work with homeless animals. It is always sad to hear about yet another puppy mill raid.

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU ! You sound like you may be the perfect person for this type of work - compassionate ! all the best and good luck with finding those poor, or maybe now I should say LUCKY dogs new homes ....and most of all.... GREAT WORK ON BUSTING THAT MILL ~ one down - thousands more to go ~! every little bit helps right ? It must have been heartbreaking to see them once they were saved. I hope they're in good shape and not like some I've seen rescued. People are just evil in that business. (Mills) |

I am so glad you rescued them, those poor babies look like they were very neglected, those poor bodies and feet look very painful... THANK YOU for you hard work, I am sure they will find new happy homes in no time at all. ...So glad to hear you work with rescue too and won't PTS those poor babies Last edited by TLC; 09-01-2009 at 10:48 AM. |

| We adopted our Yorkie 5 years ago after she'd been retired as a breeding dog. She came with some health issues (3 mammary tumors, blind in one eye, chronic pancreatitus, protein losing enteropathy, tartar coated teeth) but nothing that a few trips to the Vet, a proper diet and a couple of little pills a day couldn't fix. Her affection and devotion continues to brighten our lives every day. Mommy dogs still have a lot of love to give to people lucky enough to share their lives with one. Thank you for saving these little dogs from a life of misery and for giving them the chance to be cherished companions. |

| God Bless you & Animal Control for raiding that PuppyMill and giving all those dogs a 2nd chance at a great life. Thank You for what you do for the animals in your area. I took a look @ the link that someone posted of the dogs & PM131, a female Shih Tzu looks exactly like my male Shih Tzu Lucky.
