| HELP! trying to avoid rehoming I would appreciate any thoughts on the subject. I have had yorkies forever and I got involved with yorkie rescue. I have never had any problems with them adjusting until...... I adopted a couple that I fostered to find out that like people they all have their own ideas of what makes them happy. I did end up for placing a little girl after a year because she just never settled in. She is now a happy little girl and so different from when had her. Well I am facing that situation again. I have a 5-6 lb yorkie boy that is very sweet and wants to be on my lap 24/7. When I took him in I worked part time and he was happy so things just worked. Now I work 2 part time jobs and he is not happy and started to pee in the house (so I belly band) and when I am not home he is in a x-pen with access to the outside 12x12 covered pen. But he seems so miserable. He barks and whines. I feel so bad. I try to take him on walks and he barks, took him to obedience and he is so happy to be with me he jumps. I can't take him camping because he hates to be alone even with other dogs he barks. I think he has separation anxiety. He is not happy. When he is out in the house with belly band he is better but wants to constantly be in your face. Does anyone have any suggestions. If I can't help him be more content or happy here I think I will need to place him with someone who is home with maybe 1 other dog who can give him the attention he needs and deserves. |

| Is he an only pet? He sounds lonely.

| No he is not an only pet. During the day when I am working he is with another yorkie and a whippet. When home he is out and about with a couple of other yorkies and cats plus humans. I would say he is human lonely. He just seems so needy and he never seems to get enough attention. I feel really bad for him. |
