Donating YT 11K Club Member | Yorkie in my building may need home There is a lady in my building that has a Yorkie. He is a bigger Yorkie, a teapot, prob. about 13 lbs or so..im not sure. But she lives in a 1 bedroom apt. with her daughter and her daughter's 2 babies. The yorkie barks nonstop when ppl walk by the apt. and he is very protective of her. She said he's very hyper and calls him crazy but she loves him to death. She's had him since he was like 6 weeks old i think. He even snaps at the little children and ppl outside, so she barely walks him. She told me if she can find him a good home, to great people she would give him away. She said he is too crazy but she still loves him. He has social and behavioral problems. She said if she doesnt find a home for him with someone that will love him like she does then she will just keep him. IMO i think it wouldnt be the best for him to stay there. He like never goes outside, is cramped in the 1 bedroom apt and with a newborn there and a 3 yr old it's not healthy for him. I told her he acts that way 'cause he needs to exercise but she says he is too crazy to walk outside. He barks and snaps at ppl and other dogs. He is about 5 yrs old...im not sure. What do you guys think i should do? I think he would do great with someone with a backyard..and with a lot of experience with his behavior. He is really cute but being that he barks and we live in a building ppl complain about him.

| Ahhhhhhhhh............ Have you contacted a rescue yet? IMO that is the route you should go....If he has some behavioral issues, they will work with him and find him the best home. Save a Yorkie is in the Tri-State area |

| he barks and snaps at people because he was never proparly socialized at 5 years old his behaviuor is most llkely to late to be changed now sh emay be able to find someone older and sinle or an older couple with no kids or other pets who may take himbut highly unlikely i would also be careful around the small kids in the paartment though about him snapping biting them also i wouldnt like a dog constantly barking if i lived in apartmets poor dog and the owner also probably

| What a shame! If I had the funds and lived closer, I'd take him and work with him. Quote:

I know...i do think his behavior can still be changed. They just need experience with that...overall he seems like a sweet dog. He is hyper and energetic but not a crazy attack dog...i think he just acts like that around her but i think he can outgrow it.
