| Her adoption fee is $2000! Doesn't that seem excessive? |

| It doesn't say that -- it says that her medical expenses have already exceeded $2,000 -- she is with the Yorkie Terrier National Rescue

| I'm not sure - there really isn't much info out there about her. I would also like to know how big she is. She reminds me of Teddi that belongs to Ronlynn. Remember how she flew from Calif. out to Tenn. last yr for shunt surgery at U. of Tenn? Their faces remind me of each other

| oh, I tried to find it earlier today when luvfla said that, but I couldn't find it -- It is steep - but it sounds like her expenses have already exceed $2,000 - so I guess it is in how you look at it

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | that poor little dog. i'm glad she's ok after surgery but i think the rescue is insane in charging a $2000 adoption fee. who is going to pay that? just because she had surgery to repair the shunt does not mean she's a healthy pup now. she is still in for a rough life and the shunt may come back depending on how it was fixed.

| well I think YTNR is usually higher priced on a lot of their rescues - but they do take dogs no one else will take. I did find her page - I was using the link at the top of the petfinder page - that doesn't take you to the complete website - you need to go to Yorkshire Terrier National Rescue, Inc.

| about that little Morkie She is so sweet and adorable, but who is going to pay $2000.00 for her, they are having you pay for the vet bills, that doesn't seem right, plus how do you know if she is going to be ok, i would be leary, but she is beautiful, I think someone that can afford her, will really be happy, but I would be leary of a lot of vet bills to come. |

| YTNR really does have very high adoption fees for some of their dogs. I understand that their medical care has probably cost more than that, or they use the extra money to cover expenses for the older dogs, but I feel like the pricey ones won't end up getting adopted b/c people don't want to spend that much on a rescue, especially with the economy the way it is. If people were willing to spend that much they could just buy a baby from a breeder and they would know the history of their Yorkie's line. Plus, rescue dogs are more likely to have issues b/c of what has happened in their past. I am really glad that YTNR rescues these babies, but I see the high priced dogs on there for months, while the lower priced dogs get adopted more quickly. All the dogs that were over 500 in November (with some posted in September) are STILL on the website, while many of the ones priced 100-450/500 have been adopted or are in the process of being adopted. None of the higher priced ones have been reduced either, even though they have been on the site for months. These babies need forever homes, but they don't have them, I believe, b/c of their high cost.
