| TYLER - 10Mon. M YORKIE -$125-Triad and Charlotte area of NC-owner surrender THIS IS NOT MY DOG - PETFINDER LISTING ******************************** Adopt a Yorkshire Terrier Yorkie: Tyler: Petfinder * Tyler is currently fostered in the Winston-Salem area, therefore we will accept applications from the Triad and Charlotte area of NC. Tyler is a happy 10 month old Yorkie (born Jan 14, 2008). He is a 9 lb spunky puppy who loves playing with his foster brother and sister. Tyler came into the program when his previous owner could no longer provide the medical care necessary for him. He was very nervous about the change, but quickly warmed up to his foster parents and new furry friends. He loves to cuddle and is very comfortable meeting new people. Tyler is very gentle and patient but will jump if he gets excited. Large dogs are scary to Tyler especially if they want to sniff and play. Tyler was purchased from a "backyard breeder"- or an individual who breeds deliberately or accidental without concern for breed standard, genetics and health risks. We have now determined that Tyler was born with patella luxation or the knee cap permanently out of place in his back right leg. This was very painful to Tyler and caused a physical deformity in his knee. After several vet visits, x-rays and consultations, Tyler had surgery earlier this month to fix his knee. The surgery was done by an orthopedic specialist who eventually explained that Tyler was one of the worst knees he had ever operated on. The surgeon fixed the groove in Tyler's knee cap, tighten the ligaments and inserted two permanent pins to hold the knee in place. Tyler stayed at the vet for several days and had a cast for a couple weeks. He is now out of the cast and clearly feels much better! He is able to bend his knee normally and walk without any pain. The ideal home will enjoy a lap dog and include Tyler in family activities. Tyler has lots of energy and is still a puppy. He loves playing with toys and would enjoy having a playmate of equal size and personality. Tyler enjoys children but because of his small frame would do best in a home with children over 8 yrs old. Tyler is not the ideal dog for a first time pet owner. Tyler's new home must also understand and be prepared to continue to provide Tyler with excellent vet care. He will need to continue to be monitored annually or as needed by a vet. He could require follow up surgeries in the future. Tyler also requires regular grooming. Tyler is up to date on all shots and neutered. He sleeps in a crate at night and is doing very well with his housebreaking. A home with a fenced yard in preferred. He is a wonderful boy who deserves a lifelong, loving home. This dog is currently being fostered as part of the Diamonds in the Ruff Rescue. An application is required, along with a home visit and small adoption fee. We are willing to travel up to one hour for the right home. This pet is up to date with routine shots. This pet has been altered.

Diamonds in the Ruff
Goldsboro, NC
919-222-0500 Diamonds in the Ruff charges a small fee to adopt a pet.
