| PLEASE HELP!!! Looking for a yorkie on a budget in NJ. Hello everyone! I am new here and I love this website. You guys are all great people for loving your pets the way you do! I am a 24 year old female, I live with my boyfriend whose at work very often and I have no children. I live in Lumberton, NJ which is in south jersey, close to Philadelphia,PA. I am very much in need of a companion. I have my eyes and my heart SET on one of these sweet little pups but I cannot afford to pay anything over $250 for a pet at this moment due to other things I will have to purchase in addition to the pup itself. I would be so grateful to anyone in my area willing to give me the companion I've always wanted but never had the money to afford. The lowest price I've ever seen was about $500. I can easily afford the regular up keep but the initial cost was always too much for me. I refuse to purchase ANY pet from a pet store and would appreciate a reputable breeder or just someone trying to give a pet a new home to help me out. Thank you so much!!! |

| Sweetie....Welcome to YT! Please note that a puppy is just like a child. You might want to consider a rescue and/or wait to you are financialy stable. Remember...he/she is going to need vet care, grooming, food, shelter, etc. I wish you the best of luck

I Love Thor Donating Member | Good luck on your search~Maybe you need to spend a few more months saving, and researching for your puppy to be. If the 'initial' cost is too much, then just save away and soon enough you will have the pup that you are dreaming of. Also, have a look t rescuing. |

| As previous posters have stated, its not just the initial purchase of your yorkie. Today, pet insurance is a must for a healthy pet as vet costs are very pricey. Also a yorkie needs to be groomed every six weeks. My last yorkie lived to 14 1/2 years old with her last year being very costly due to her congestive heart failure. Perhaps you can rescue a dog, Save a Yorkie Rescue has many dogs. Good luck to you in whatever you decide. |

Donating YT 1000 Club Member | Just to put in my two cents - with nine dogs I have a 5000.00 saving account just for emergencies. I actually don't use the money for anything else. Good care is expensive and insurance or a nest egg is very important. If you cannot afford to purchase a puppy maybe a rescue that is already neutered or spayed and is in good health is the way to go.
