| Beware Of Nj Rescue.... For those living in NJ that may have been on Petfinder looking for a Yorkie to rescue. Please STAY CLEAR OF NJ COLLIE RESCUE AND REFERAL OF WHITEHOUSE, NJ. They have Yorkie pups 8 weeks advertised on Petfinder as "Tea Cups." They also have SEVERAL different breed full breed pups on petfinder as well. They are getting these pups from mills. They are brokers - not a rescue. PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO READ THE INFORMATION THAT CAME THROUGH TO MY YAHOO GROUP. I have permission to cross post please pass it along to your rescue groups. Since it is too long to post I will post it under two separte posts. Thanks. It's long but worth the read. |

| Story. Sorry, I tried to edit my post to include this but 1. it was too long between posts and 2. The info. was so lengthy it did not fit so I'm editiing it down to the main point and that is where these pups are coming from. See Below. After looking at NJ Collie Rescue’s PetFinder listings, I am in complete agreement with Eileen that Vicki Patterson is acting as nothing more than a puppy mill broker. Her adoption prices are ridiculous and prohibitive – ($750!!!) I’ve never heard of any rescue ever charging this much. I also agree with Eileen that when rescuers obtain dogs from puppy mill auctions, the majority of them are retired breeders, older dogs and not puppies, especially 8 week old puppies! I saved the pictures and descriptions and found something VERY interesting: some of Vicki’s pictures are superimposed with “K-Jac’s Kennel” – K-Jac’s is a USDA-licensed commercial kennel, aka a puppy mill from the biggest puppy mill state in the country, Missouri - and they are selling all the breeds on Next day Pets and their own website that NJ Collie Rescue says it “saved from auction” - for as little as $175 – $250!!! My suspicions are that Vicki Patterson is buying puppies from Kara Crass of K-Jac’s, having them shipped to NJ (Newark Airport) selling them under the guise of rescue and adoption, and still making a huge profit on them. The pictures are identical to the ones on K-Jac’s website. (Links provided at the end of this email). Either that or she is using K-Jac’s pictures and possibly buying PA puppy mill puppies for resale. When it comes to brokers, nothing surprises us anymore. PetFinder home page, NJ Collie Rescue & Referral: NJ Collie Rescue & Referral Available puppies as of June 23, 2008: NJ Collie Rescue & Referral, Whitehouse, NJ: Adoptable Pets: Petfinder (compare the pictures that are marked K-Jac’s Kennel to the ones on its website) PetFinder NJ Collie Rescue discussion forum from October and November 2007 (discusses Parvo and more problems): Petfinder.com forums :: View topic - So I was scanning the NJ Shelter listings [ ] Victoria Patterson’s horse website (pictures of her, click to enlarge): Victoria's Vanners - Home K-Jac’s Kennel - Home USDA AND MO STATE licensed. Kara and Jack Crass Jenkins, MO 65605 (417) 574-6470 K-Jac’s Next Day Pet Internet Ads: Puppies for Sale, Dogs for Sale (see very low prices for the same dogs!) | I just emailed them out of curiousity and asked their adoption fee...$750. I just emailed and asked if that included shots, spay/neuter, and I'm anxious to find out.... I agree that this is NOT a rescue, but a broker...disgusting! Can't we turn them into petfinder? |

| Okay, I just got an email back. The "adoption fee" includes shots but the person getting the dog is responsible for getting the dog spayed/neutered... I just emailed and asked why so high for fees if neuter/spay is not included???? |
