Default Rescuing a Yorkie

I am rescuing a female 3 or 4 year old yorkie. She is at a Humane Society near here and she was rescued from a mill. I am picking her up tonight and am so excited to give her a type of home and love that she needs. Poor girl is missing part of her right here but I still think that she is beautiful.MO80.10544313-1-pn.jpg

Not sure if I posted this under the right area but since she is a rescue that is why I did it here.

Amber, I am so glad you are giving this girl a chance. Is she missing part due to another dog in the mill grabbing her? I just read on another forum that a shizu had her leg ripped off by a pit and the miller did not seak attention for her. She died an hour after being rescued. Your road will be long with this little one as mill dogs often are even afraid of grass under their feet from living their entire life in a cage. If you need help pls. feel free to PM me and I'll help you out with ideas or answers as best I can - also www.puppymillrescue is a good site to book mark. They have a Yahoo group called puppymillrescue. You should join as they have a lot of knowledge and are always willing to help. Best of luck. Elaine

Oh and I just noticed I typed her right here and it was supposed to be right ear. Anyway they are not sure what happened with her ear but I will get her all checked out and fixed up. The only other problem she has is that she needs some dental work but I will be more than happy to get that done for her. I just don't understand how people can be so cruel to animals when all that they want is to give and receive love and affection.

Thanks for you info on that group and website I will definitely join.

And I also want to mention that this humane society was wonderful to work with. They are an hour away but I called and talked to them so they are holding her for me until I can get there, so I went at lunch time and got all kinds of new items for her. I just cannot wait to get her home.

I will take lots of pics this evening and get them posted. I am just counting down to 4:00. I have been on here for quite awhile doing research on Yorkies and just waiting for the right time and the time is here.

Oh, God bless you!! I am so excited for you, I can just imagine how you feel right now! Do you have any idea what you will name her? She is adorable. We have gotten them that are so afraid/shy that they are afraid to approach their food even though they are just starving. It's heartbreaking but you are in for a treat when she realizes all the wonderful things in store for her now that she has someone who loves her! It may take awhile or she may be fine from the beginning. I can hardly wait to hear all about her! Congratulations on the new star in your crown!
