No news yet or response from the owner. I also contacted my rescue I got Kiwi from, and the lady who runs it said they can take him if need be. I told her we might have someone on here interested, but that I'm really waiting to hear from the girl who listed the dog. I will for sure update everyone when I hear from her whether he is gone already or not...

I spoke with the lady I had in mind and she cant take in an animal right now. We could call the nearby vets offices and make them aware of the situation. I know a lot of times people in the offices will take in animals like this! Also, our vets offices in our area have bulletin boards, which could come in use. We can say their is an adoptione fee and use it for a vet visit for him. He prob. hasnt been to a vet if they dont love him enough to keep him living because they "cant deal with him".

Default **UPDATE** Still Available

He's still available--this is the reply I got from her. I'm going to forward it to my rescue and get her the information, so hopefully they can help out, but if anyone on here wants to help, that would in my opinion be better because this rescue is very busy...

Here's the message:

He's still available. He doesn't have any health issues, to speak of. He's got several cysts on his body (covered by hair), but the vet says they're nothing. He still bounces around like a puppy, and he's still darn cute.

He tends to bark a lot when left outside, but he has to be left outside (or very closely supervised) when small children are around. He doesn't always get along great with other dogs, but if you let them be and let them establish their own pecking order, he'll get put in his place and eventually coexist with other dogs--he wouldn't be the type of dog you'd want to take to the dog park.

He's very loyal and loving to his humans, though. And he's a snuggler.

He's been a great dog, but my lifestyle just can't accommodate him anymore. I wish I would've trained him better when I had the chance--I spoiled him by never making him be outside, so that now he barks when out. I never crate trained him, either, which I now regret. He is housebroken, though.

Thanks for the interest.

Jenny

I'm sorry but this just makes me so mad and breaks my heart for this dog! She sounds like she's throwing out an old pair of socks!! I pray that someone will be able to take him and love him. If there are expenses for fostering and someone is willing to foster him, I will be glad to help. Just PM me.

Default Would this work?

Here is what we need to do:

1. Whoever is in Charleston SC needs to get that Yorkie and keep him in a crate away from your other Yorkie.

2. Someone else needs to take him, a rescue, a YT member, a new home. The person in SC can't keep him...

3. A YT girl in KS is looking for an older Yorkie for her Grandma. This one sounds perfect for her.

4. we can train him to KS.

Just my thoughts on the situation.

I've already said I can get him out of the situation and would be willing to "start" the first few hours of the train. This sounds great to me, and you're right, unfortunately for all involved, due to housing commitments, I CANNOT have another yorkie So if the girl in KS says this sounds good, then so be it...let's do this!

I agree Betteanne! It does sound like she's just throwing out a pair of socks, and it's just ridiculous. I can't even stand to think this yorkie will be in this situation for another DAY! What a horrible human she must be... I hope we can work this out, and once we figure out the final results, we'll definitely keep everyone posted.

Thanks for all your help and quick-action. We'll see what happens, but if no one can take him, I'll for sure get you involved. Thank you again

Yes - he does need to get out of there ASAP!

Has anyone contacted and/or heard back from a Yorkie Rescue?

I wish I could go right there now and save him, but being so far away I can't. I can help in other ways though, so please let me know what I can do. My heart is breaking for him

Default **update**

I e-mailed her and asked for her number and if he was UTD on shots, etc... this is the reply I got.

Yes, he's up to date on everything, and always has been. He's been very well taken care of.

His name is Rascal, and he's my mother's (I grew up with him, since I was 16). I'm advertising him for her. I don't think either of us thought anyone would actually be interested in a dog his age... Let me touch base with her tomorrow and let her know you're interested. Then I'll give you her number if she gives me the green light.

Thanks again.

Jenny

Teri, don't feel bad. He may not even be a Yorkie. Some people do things like this to get attention. I am always cautious of Craigslist advertisings.... some Yorkies may have been stolen and advertising them is just a way to make some $$$.
I cannot beleive they put the Yorkie outside and he barks. Of course he does! Gives me nightmares....he does need to get out of there, but sounds like he does need a foster parent to teach him what he hasn't been taught before he goes to a new home. Geez.

ITA with everything you said! If this were a yorkie for money, I would be more leary, but he's free, and I really think she's telling the truth about him. So hopefully they will give him up, and then my rescue here in SC will take him in. He definitely needs a foster family to learn how to be a real dog! I just can't imagine some of the things she's saying she thinks sound logical!!!!!! I'm waiting on getting the phone number, and then I'll call my rescue and they'll take him since it sounds like no one on YT is really going for him...

Poor little guy. If there's anything I can do, let me know.

Also if someone picks him up, try and get the vet's name so you can get a copy of his vet records to take with him for his new family.
