Default Looking into adopting a Yorkie rescue

Hubby and I are looking into adopting an older rescue Yorkie and I would be very grateful if some of you could give me some hints on how to go about it.

We live in Pocomoke City, that's on Maryland's Eastern Shore about 30 miles south of Salisbury (Hubby calls it Mayberry, USA...)

Awwwwww, I wish I'd have known you were looking.... a sweet little girl in another thread had been looking for a new home... but I believe she's found one in another YT member!

I'll keep my eyes open for you and let you know of any angels needing a life long love!!

Congrats on the decision to bring a new light into your world!!

(I hope you're feeling better!)

PS - I put in your zip code on petfinder.com and this is what came up.... Lots of babies needing homes, but I don't see any RIGHT near you.... I'll keep looking

ALSO, Miss Tweedle will be needing a forever home once she recovers from all of her surgical procedures....
There are several threads about her, but here is the most recent.... here also, is her petfinder.com page....

Tweedle had her surgery! A note from her foster mommy...

Thank you all for your suggestions and the links!!!

We actually have already filled out some applications with save a yorkie and with yorkierescue. We also have already looked all over the sweet little angels that need a new forever home and we saw Bobbie, a 9 y.o. puppy mill rescue girl (fisrt pic) and Sweet William a 10 y.o. boy. We like to have an older Yorkie b/c Mitzi is getting older too and a puppy might be to exausting for her to handle and I thought only b/c a doggie is older doesn't mean he/she doesn't need a loving home too. Oh... and we are older too and wouldn't like it to be overlooked because of that...

Oh, good luck! I answered your pm and mistakenly thought you'd responded to my signature. (with the link about Mink) Please let me know if there is anything that I can do to help. In the meantime, I'm glad you've already applied!

No, her "angel" Kathy - who so kindly took on the expenses of Tweedles medical needs, is in CA - (KathyInCali)... Tweedle is actually in WA with her foster Mommy... but if you were to decide on her, I'm more than certain that the loving YT members here would form the biggest and best "transport train" in the country to get her home to you!!!

Good luck Sonja, anyone who does not pick your family for a rescue baby is clear out of their minds.

Any baby who gets to be in your home will be the luckiest baby ever.

And Mitzi will be a great sister and I know 2 cousins who will be thrilled.

Keep me posted!!!
