Donating Member | You want something absorbent, especially for the middle layers, and you might want something decorative for the outside, if you want to display it in a room and you're fussy about things like that. Some people put a waterproof material on the backside, so no moisture can reach the surface below. You could take old towels, and sew in a square, and cover with a cotton fabric for looks. Lots of different ways, and some people buy special absorbant pads and cover those.

| washable pee pad fabric Here is what I do: I buy used absorbant pads from EZwhelp.com, $3 or $4 each...... Then I sew those inside a white cotton bottom and use a cute fabric on top, especially cheap Christmas fabric or any kind of fabric to match your decor. I sew on the top to hold it all together, a big cross or quilt pattern, anything to hold it straight in washing. Works for me!
