| That is sooo cute! Do you put a glaze over them? We have painted covers before and the paint gets scratched or chipped off, but we didn't put anything over the paint.

| Thank you Jenn, for the compliment. I take a lot of pride in what I do, since I have been doing Lightplate covers since 1996. It takes time to paint a really nice painting, and it matters to me that the painting in protected for a long time. After all, that is what has kept me doing this for so long.....is how good they look and how long they last. If you do good work, you can keep going forever. Hugs! from me and my Yorkie to yours. |

| Yes, I do use a protective gloss. It is a clear high gloss finish. If you plan on painting your lightplates again, it is a good idea to use a protective paint for sure. A high gloss finish leaves a nice look and allows you to wash it. My suggestion would be to lightly spray the first coat. Then lightly spray again a second coat. And the 3rd coat should be lightly sprayed as well. (Evenly) Drying time between them should be at least a day for it to set in. If and when you plan on doing it again....please feel free to contact me and I would be happy to assist you, to insure you'll have plates that last a long time. P.S....unfortunately, I cannot recommend a particular product, as I am supplied with a product from a supplier, because of the high volume of plates that I make. But, try looking for something that says Clear high Gloss finish. |
