| A question about selling things i dont know if this is in the right place or not... if it isnt admin, can you please put it in the right place. i like to sell things for dogs as a hobby. i was just wondering if anyone can advise me if they think its ok to accept a money order for things if the buyer doesnt have paypal. i dont have alot of experience with this so was wondering what others thoughts were on this ?

Donating YT 500 Club Member | I would accept money orders for payment but wouldn't ship the item until after the money order cleared my bank. Your bank can tell you exactly how long that would be, typically it can be up to 10 business days I think. It's too easy for scammers to counterfeit money orders and checks, so you do need to be cautious.

| You do need to hold the items until the money order clears. One of my tellers took 4 counterfeit Postal Money orders a couple of months ago. they were for a total of almost $2,000.00 and sadly she didn't follow bank policy because they were from the PO and gave the customer immediate credit and cash back. That poor girl spent all the money and was left owing us a lot of money It is sad we live in a world where you can have no trust...but it is, what it is

| I have never held a check or a money order for a YTer and I've only had one questionable transaction that got straightened out. It was a personal check from a country that is on a financial yellow light list at banks. I think it may have been Cameroon, but I don't remember. If and when I get "burned", I'll simply put that person on my "do not sell to" list and go on. Part of my joy in selling on YT is that I have such faith and confidence in my YT family members. |

| I haven't sold anything but anyone can get a Paypal account, it's easy peasy...I always feel more confident using Paypal for any on line transactions.
