Default Dress for charity

Hi All,
I have created a Breast Cancer awareness dress and the profits will go to charity. I have attached a picture of the dress and it can be custom fit for your dog. $10.00 from every sale will go to Beacon house and Paws on Parade. The Beacon house is in Green Bay WI and it is a place that helps people battleling catastrophic illness such as cancer. The Paws charity is a place that trains theraputic dogs that are used to lift the spirits of those struggling with diseases. You know how our dogs lift our spirits every day and I thought I wanted to do something for charity. The person I will be sending the money too is Susan Gee and if you would like to send contributions to her directly please let me know and I can send you her address and give you a tax i.d.# so you can write it off on your taxes as a charitable contribution. Thanks for considering this dress for your baby and know that the money is going to a worthy cause.
Thanks again

Thats really cute! What a great cause also. My oldest daughter is getting married in Oct. and we went to "BRIDES FOR BREAST CANCER" and found her dress. Its a $4,000.00 couture dress, brand new, gorgeous, and we got it for under $600.00. All proceeds go to the cause. Her paternal g-ma had a double mastectomy 5 years ago but is doin well now.

Great idea! Good Luck!

Ok, I'm going to try this again. Hands weren't typing all that well this morning.

Melinda,

I just wanted to say, the dress is beautiful! What a kind, generous thing you are doing, donating part of the proceeds.

I'm so glad your Mom, is a "Survivor". My Aunt was not so fortunate.

Oh Sheila I am so sorry about your Aunt! I have lost 3 family members to cancer. One was G.I. one was lung and the other made medical history at Carolina's Medical Center she was only 43. I was lucky My mom is a survivor. She is a tough bird and I want to give back but this is the only way i can financially. I may be giving more of the proceeds. The ones sold thru e-bay i can't give as much because it costs me $2.00 to list it and then i have to pay seller fees and pay pal fees. If i sell one off e-bay thru yorkietalk then I would give more money to the charity. Again I am so sorry to hear about your aunt!

I know Breast Cancer is so common these days and They do alot better treating it but I wish they had a cure! Maybe one day huh. There are so many young girls getting breast cancer. When i worked at the hopsital I took care of a number of girls between the ages of 18-23 who lost their battle with breast cancer it went to the brain and it was just so sad to see them deteriorate!
I am glad you went to the Brides for Breast Cancer I had never heard of that but what a great thing you and your daughter did!

Thank you, Melinda. I am so sorry you have lost 3 family members to cancer. I have lost 8; Leukemia, breast cancer, colon cancer, liver cancer, ovarian cancer, brain tumor cancer, lung cancer. The two saddest were one 12 year old cousin to Leukemia, and another cousins 4 year old daughter, to a brain tumor. It is an insidious disease.

This is the 'only' way you can? Oh, sweetheart, what you are doing is incredible, and you know the old saying, every little bit helps.

If I ordered two dresses directly from you; would you be able to donate more?

I am so glad your Mom is a 'tough bird'. You tell her to stay that way!

Hugs,
Sheila

OMG Shelia!! That is so sad!! That makes me just heartbroken! Have you had a blood test to check and see if you carry any of the markers for it, since you have such a large history in your family? Also yes i will give me if not purchased off e-bay. It costs me $5.00 in fees just to list and sell something off e-bay. Plus the materials i use. If you purchase directly from me i can add an additional $5.00 to the donation. So it would be $15.00 per dress that I sell directly off yorkietalk. If you do decide to purchase this is the info i will need
neck - measure around the neck
chest - measure just behind the front legs AROUND the broadest part of the chest
topline - measure from nap of neck (where collar sits) to where tail begins.
Also don't measure to tightly on the chest allow for furr and activity.
Thanks again
Melinda

Thanks, Melinda. I have had the CA-125 for ovarian in the past, but no longer is a concern since I had surgery. Routine colonoscopy's. I have a few serious health issues, so I see my D.O. monthly and a Neurologist on a regular basis, they both know my family medical history so they keep a close eye on me.

Yes, I figured the E-Bay listings were costing you a pretty penny. I order bows from a gal that has an E-Bay site, and another on-line store. I order from her on-line store, because it actually is less expensive. (Sure, sometimes you can win an auction and it's less but I usually have specific bows I want, so it's cheaper to buy from her on-line store)

And in this case, I love the idea that you can donate more!

I'll PM you some measurements over the weekend.

I hope lots of YTer's will participate. The dresses are lovely and it is such a good cause!

I'll be proud to have my girls wear dresses in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness.

I'm also very proud to know you.

Sheila

Well it is good that you have a doctor that is familiary with you and your family history. I too have a great doctor but it took me a while to find her! She always spends plenty of talking time as well as never minds ordering tests she thinks i need. She is a true compassionate physician and it seems there are too few of them these days. Yes i would love to have an online store and one day i hope to then I won't give e-bay $600-$700 a month in fees!! It is getting ridiculous but it is a good avenue for me at this time. Ok just let me know when you are ready to order I will be here when you decide.
thanks so much
Melinda

I fired 7 doctors in 5 years, getting sicker all the time, before I found my D.O. 6 years ago. I'd love to move down to S.IL and be near my 1 year old twin grandsons, but it's pretty risky, trying to find another good doctor.

Your doctor sounds like mine; compassionate, takes plenty of time with me each month, and never hesitates to order a test. The 'hard-t-find' type these days.

E-Bay charges you $600.00-$700.00 in fees each month?! That's quite a racket they've got goin'!

Oh yes you wouldn't beleive. You pay a listing fee, when you sell an item then you pay a 10% seller fee and then pay pal gets their fee when you get paid so I think they get a total of 25% of the total sale price it may be more. My mom does the bookkeeping but i know its expensive! Our average is $600 sometimes more and sometimes less depending on how much we sell. We have like 400 or more items listed so we have a ton of listing fees so we use the store listings alot because its cheaper for the initial listing but they get their money if we sell an item. Also we pay $49 a month for the premier store fee to have the option to list in the store. So it is a money maker for them. I just haven't had time to learn to build my site and I have found a guy that will do it. I just don't have the money right now to pay for it hehe. I could build it if i had the time but i have been busy lately making cheerleader outfits and other spring dresses and the breast cancer dress.
