Default Yorkie in Public Areas!

Hello everyone! Does anyone else like to take their dogs out with them to public areas like the mall?

Or is it just me, I can't help but want to take my puppy where ever I go.

But I guess I don’t really know the “rules” about taking your dog with you in public areas. I just don't want to be breaking any kind of laws.

Could someone fill me in? Thanks a bunch!

If theres no sign on the door, it should be ok for your baby to go to the mall with you, is my guess. I take my girls to the mall in their stroller, even if theres a sign up, they dont stop me, because they dont walk around, and are closed in.
Not many places in EU have a "no dogs allowed" sign up, they are welcome almost everywhere, exept for grocerie stores.

Well, I know some malls are petfriendly... I used to live in san jose ca and I used to take my teacup chihuahua with me to the mall over there (Valley Fair). I think if your dog is small enough to be carried, nobody really bothers you about it. I have been told to leave a mall once at San Mateo mall (hillsdale). I know you cant bring your dog to wal-mart since they have a mc donalds in there - or most of them at least.

I try to take my dog every where I go, but I know A LOT of places are not pet-friendly so if I do take my dog, I make sure that I go to pet-friendly malls/shops/cities...

We do strollers a lot because I don't want the dogs getting stepped on or snatched. if you stay out of stores selling food, usually it is okay.

I know someone who was told to leave Target with her dog. We were told that Menards does not allow dogs anymore because they sell groceries there.

Most places will let you bring them in as long as there's no food.

I take Momiji almost everywhere if there is no food.
I even tried Starbucks... (twice actually, once I got kicked out, once they didn't noticed!! I didn't stay, I just wanted to pick up a cup of coffee!!!)
I've been kicked out of Target, mall, post office, etc.
But I try!!!
What the worst thing could happen???
I just have to leave!!!
I even took Momiji to bikini wax (not her, my bikini wax!! ) the other day!!!! (She slept on my chest the whole time!!! )

yeah I went to Starbucks one day when my car was being repaired on and i had to wait... The Starbucks associate didnt say anything - the cashier actually got all excited and petted Dunks... So I guess it depends on the workers as well...

I take teddi to the malls and shopping all the time to department stores. They actually told me she couldn't come in Home Depot once (I thought that was kinda lame). I also take her to the movies but she is always hidden under my hoodie. I don't take her to grocery stores or Target or anything like that because I know that's not right.

Default PETs in public places

Well i know walmart and my local post office doesn't allow pets hehe. Unless they are working dogs. Usually it is ok to take pets with you as long as their is nowhere that is serving food or have food products around. That is what i have found out anyway

I forgot.
I took her to a court one time!!!!
I had to file name change form and I had her.
She was only 4 month old and didn't want to leave her more than 2 hrs!! (the court was one hour away from my apartment...)
Thank goodness for those guards, they were nice enough to let me take her!!!

OK - explain "take". Do you put your furbabies on a harness because then I can see them telling you to leave.

I've had Izzy in my purse-type carrier to Target, Post Office, Lowes, etc., and never a problem. Would never take her to places that serve or sell food (though Target does but no one said anything to me). She also went to furniture stores with me.

I usually just carry my Dunks.. My arms are tired after about 10 minutes of carrying him though.. he's 13.5 lbs! But I carry him going in the store.. I just switch arms - often.. or i bring a blanky and put it on the cart and i leave him in the cart... he's pretty good in the cart...
