I'm going to start walking Bitsy outside in a few weeks (waiting for her second vaccination) and was wondering what you all use to pick up dog poo on your walks? I'm kinda squeemish and I don't mind picking up poo when I can IMMEDIATELY wash my hands, but on walks I'm going to have to carry it for a while....

In my community, they have little stands in different places in the grass that have small, thick trash bags to pick it up with, and they have a hidden trash bag where you can toss the little poo bags. It's very handy, and they change the trash everyday...

We carry the poop bags. Put your hand in the bag, pick up the poop then turn the back inside out, tie the first tie close to the poop, bring the bag back over the poop again and tie off. Your hands don't touch the poop, but if it makes things easier you could just take a little jar of antibacterial gel with you.

i use sandwich bags to pick up poop. hand never touches the poop cause i use the inside out method like yorkiedaze.

We use the blue poop bags. I use sandwich bags in a pinch, but I prefer not to "see" it.

My bags are on a little roll in a little case that you can hook to the leash. But sometimes I just tear off a bag and stick it in my pocket.

Yep, get dark bags so you don't have to see it, and I forgot to mention that I also use the "inside-out" method. LOL

Ditto for us we have a green holder with the roll bags and when done - toss and then I'm using Purel..lol. Also in a pinch - sandwich bags will do.

If you have a Dollar Tree store in your area, they sell boxes of black pickup bags 50ct/$1. I buy like 6 boxes at a time. We live in an apt and go through a handful of bags a day. I like that these bags aren't see-through and have little handles which make it easier to tie it up when you have to carry it a bit.

We walk everyday and we USE POOP BAGS!! I think it is a must! We use the little container that attaches to the leash and we also use the "inside out" method of picking up the poo. I even pick it up when we are walking on the beach. (even if we are in area where no one else is!)

I buy diaper disposal bags at the Dollar Store. There are two different "brands". One brand has 100 bags for $1.00 the other has 50. They work great, are very sanitary, and no smells leak through.

My daughter lives in Minneapolis, and there are garbage cans everywhere because everyone's cans are in alleys right near the sidewalk. When she picks up the poo (inside out method) she just puts it in the nearest garbage can. We don't have that convenience. However, if we walk, I carry it home in the little bag. Use inside out method too. By the way, one of the great things about Yorkies is that they have "little poo".

We use the standard poop bags you get at PetsMart. I like that they have a little carrier that you clip onto your leash so you always have the bags with you. Either blue or black so you don't see anything and the inside/out method for picking it up!!!!

we use the dark green poop bags because my neighborhood requires them. every other household has a pet and thus, each household must pick up their waste. i buy mine from petsmart, as so many others do, but now i think i'll check out the dollar store because it's such a deal!

i also use the inside out method and then tie the two ends with a double knot so no smell comes though.

Me too i use the inside out method too and my bags are black that way i cannot see it. Thank good ness my little one poops a little hard so it's easy to pick up
