Default mild shampoo suggestions?

Hello! I use minksheen on my Dunks, but the last time I brought him to the Vet he said that Dunks' skin is kind of dry. I bathe him every two weeks coz he gets pretty stinky - I take him to the doggie park at least 4 times a week...

So, do any fellow YTers have any suggestions on what kind/brand/ingredients would be best to use on Dunks that wont dry out his skin given that I give him a bath every 2 weeks?

Thanks guys!

Baby shampoo would probably be a good one for him.

The best thing I recommend is an oatmeal conditioner and put it on him and let it sit for about 5 minutes and then rinse. I use BioGuard Flea and Tick shampoo which is very mild and an oatmeal conditioner and I wash Reeses once a week and he doesnt have any problems with dry skin anymore since I use the conditioner. Goodluck!

Do you use a certain brand of the oatmeal conditioner?

we use Earth Bath shampoo for our baby..We find that it's the mildest and it is all natural. I love the whole line..I use their bath wipes for in between baths and after playing outside.

Where do they sell Earth Bath brand shampoo/conditionair? Petco or the specialty pet stores?

Thanks!

I use Aveeno baby soothing relief creamy wash. It is tear free so you can wash their face too.

MinkSheen is a GREAT gentle shampoo. If Dunks has dry skin, you might want to correct that from the inside out -- maybe he needs a change of food and/or some supplements.

I had the same problem with my Chattie. I changed her food and started giving her a few drops of 100% emu oil every day and her coat is finally growing, it looks GREAT and doesn't break off every time I brush her.

The #1 All systems products are excellent and they have one for sensitive skin.http://mjmcompany.com/1allsystems-grooming.htm Also you may want to add cod liver oil to the food each day. If your dog eats dog food, that could be why his skin is so dry.

Dunks' coat is shiny and full - no breakage or anything. I did change his dog food to canidae from Science Diet, but the Vet said that his skin ws dry when he was already in canidae. SO i switched his food just recently actually - like 2 days ago to Avoderm... They said that its goof for their skin and coat.. so we will see how this one works..

Thank you all for the suggestions!
