| Our reviews on Minksheen Well, I have mixed feelings about the product and I will tell you why. Okay, having to use a shampoo/conditioner in one sure saves a lot of time, especially for me who gives both babies a bath simultaneously. It is not thick so when pouring be extra careful as lots could come out . . .well I always like to generously slather the stuff on both my babies so it was fine. I decided to dilute it though as I wanted to get all parts of their body lathered up. The smell, well, I am not quite sure if I like it. It is very musky and it sure reminds me of "BRUTT" cologne . . . . I think it is the aloe vera in it that gives it that smell as I remember my mom putting those aloe vera plant on her hair (for hair growth) and it sure smells like it too. As I started to blow dry Tiger, the coat did not feel soft or supple and by the time I was done, it did not give me the results I was expecting. It took longer for me to blow dry his hair as there were more tangles to deal with. Maybe because I am so used to giving them a separate conditioner and I use a generous amount as I want their coat to be extra soft and manageable as I dry them off. In fact, the PETSILK products gives his coat a shinier look. Now on Annika, the results are definitely AMAZING. I noticed her hair was much, much, much softer to the touch. However, and this is the biggest concern . . . . and it could be perhaps because it does not have a separate conditioner, there was sooo much matting that I about almost died and thought I was gonna cut off some of her gorgeous hair. Could it be because it made her hair so much finer . . .I don't know. . . . all I know is that Annika hated being brushed even more and I really tried to be extra gentle with her. Halfway through, I could no longer stand it that I had to put the petsilk serum to help me out and it sure DID. I took me three times longer to get her hair all dried and unmatted. I also noticed that because her hair seems finer, it gets tangled much easier since last Saturday's bath. As you can see from the photos, her coat is really shiny and unusually SOFT. But I cannot really say it is purely due to Minksheen since the petsilk serum came to the rescue. Perhaps the combination gave this wonderful result . . . who knows. If you ask me will I switch . . . definitely NOT. I don't want to put her through that ordeal again. I still give the petsilk products the highest rating as it works well for my furbabies. They smell much, much better, they certainly get the shiny look and the coat holds better inbetween shampoos. Now you all know that yorkies coat are so close to human hair so although my furkids did not do well it does not mean you'll get the same results. The Minksheen is a wonderful product and has had many satisfied customers. This review should not stop YOU from trying the product OUT as it might give you a much better result than what you are currently using. It is just NOT for my babies. |

| *sigh* Gosh, she is breathtaking. I agree like Human Hair what works well for one does not generally work well for everyone else. I think the type of water has a bit to do with it as well. Wasn't a fan of the smell as it reminded me of the Perms I had to use in Cosmo School, arg! I loved what it did for Queequeg though and her hair has not matted up at all. Poor Annika sorry it didn't work as well for you. |
