| Car Seat I have read that a lot of you say your yorkies really LOVE their car seats. I bought one for my little baby last week and he has been used to riding in a carrier in car rides up until then. Anyways, when he was in it, he was continually trying to jump out and he whined a little bit(he's not a really big whiner in the first place). What I was wondering though, of those of you who bought their babies a car seat, did it take awhile for them to get used to it, or did they love it right off the bat. If it took them awhile to get adjusted to it, how long did it take? Thanks |

| I'll admit, I was a bad mommy for awhile & would let Snickers ride in the car on my lap. He goes on many car rides everyday, because he comes to work with me & runs errands during the day. But, guilt got to me & I went & bought one. He really doesn't like it either. It's been about 3 weeks. He only sometimes whines, but I can just tell he's not really into it. |

My furkids Donating Member | Sadie didn't care for hers at first but she got used to it...I used to put it in the front seat when I was driving and she was fine...not to say she wouldn't rather be on my lap which is something I have never done but, now I have another new furbaby...Lillie is still to small to put a harness on so I bought her a soft crate/carrier. Now both of the girls are in the back seat.(I put the seat belt around the carrier so if I have to stop fast Lillie doesn't go flying!) Sadie isn't real happy about the back seat and she will whine a bit but I just keep telling her to be a good girl...sometimes this works sometimes it doesn't...but, I WON'T take her out...

| I have to go on a long car trip this weekend and we got him the car seat because I read about how so many people said their yorkies loved it SO much. I was hoping that he would as well. I'm not sure if since he's out of his carrier that he just wants to be on my lap really badly or if he just doesn't like the car seat. We just want him to be happy on the car trip this weekend. I try to take him in the car almost everyday to get him to see that the car means going to fun places like pet smart or play time with other puppies. He's yet to be happy in the car seat though. |

| I bought Millie's car seat before I even got her so she has been using it since 12 wks old. It took her over a year to really get used to it and be ok with it. (I also think part of the adjustment was being in the car, she really did not care that much for it) She would jump out of it to get to me, she would whine so we would pick her up and hold her in our laps, she would jump out of it and hang out on the back seat floor. She was the biggest worrywart. It helped to move her seat from the side of the back seat to the middle of the back seat. She was closer to us that way. She still gets ansey if sunlight gets directly on her. We call her the "vampire" because she hates to be hit with the sunlight. I am seriously considering putting that black film on the windows just because of her. But when it's all said and done, I am happy I got it. Because she now likes to sit up and look out the windows and look all around. She likes to move around in it and it's better for her do it there instead of on my lap. Also, it's a place for her to sleep when we have to leave her in the car. |

| Teddy wasn't sure the first day (I got it pretty much right after bringing him home so he's had it pretty much from the start) The first day he wined a little and jumped out which resulted in him hanging over the side by his harness! My daughter grabed him up quickly though and it was the last time he tried that. He took to it quite quickly though and within the first couple of days began to really love it. He usually snuggles down inside and goes to sleep or chews his bone and is quite happy in it. The first pic is Teddy I think the second day in his seat and the other is more recent. |

| The first carseat I bought was one of the inexpensive Outward Hound seats. Sissy HATED it. Not only did she scream (not whine, but SCREAM), but she did everything she could to catapult her body out of the seat part till she was hanging by her harness/tether!! I invested in a Snoozer Lookout Console car seat. The first time we used it on a 5 hour trip, she was good for 1/2 the ride, then whined for the other 1/2. But with it being so close to me, I could put my arm around her to comfort her. That was the one and only time she has ever whined in her seat. The way home she slept the whole way - never whined. We use it all the time now and she loves her seat!!!

| Tha't the one we have too. It really is soft and cozy. I havn't seen any of the others up close and personal but they don't look as comfy and the console one sits right in the middle by me so he is close. I think that makes a big difference. Kim and Teddy |

| I'll have to give the snoozer lookout carseat a try. It seems like it's a lot more comfortable for them. Hopefully he'll like it. Thanks for the tips! |

Shelby & Seymour love their snoozer, too! PLUS with 2 of the seatbelt straps that attach to their harnesses, I don't have to worry about them jumping out OR choking ...... keypoint!!! I NeVER attach it to their collars, just the harnesses.

| The first carseat Lacy had was a console carseat. She took to it right away and did great in it. She would just hop right up into it. Monday she got a new carseat: The Snoozer Lookout Luxery carseat in Pink Microsuede. She really loves that carseat! She also just hops right up into it and is ready to go!
