| Before their arrival... Before your york's arrival... what did you buy for him/her? We're going to be adopting in a few months, and we can't resist wanting to pick things up on the way... that way our pup will come to a house well prepared. What's a list of things to get before the puppy's arrival? Thanks. |

Congrats on your new puppy, you're going to LOVE it!!! Some thing you'll need for the future, are a leash and harness, and I highly recommend you have your puppy microchipped when it's big enough-

| I had nothing on the day I bought Buddy! Not one thing. I wasn't even sure if I would come home with a pet. I took a week off to search for an adult female who was already trained. I visited a couple of breeders thinking maybe they had a rescue or one that no longer was needed for breeding. Even called the local vets and pounds. I took a trip up to my girlfriends up state and she took me to a private pet store. As soon as I spoted him I asked if he were sick. His eyes looked so glassy. They said no. I liked his size. 3.5lbs at 3.5mos. After holding him there was no way I could put him back. I thought he was crying. After a free vet check up he was all mine. Then to the pet store. We bought: 1. Harness and leash 2. Food bowl and water bowl (stainless steel) 3. Shampoo and conditioner 4. Food 5. Treats 6. Toys, toys, toys 7. Plush bed to fit into crate that my daughter had 8. Sweater I guess that is all to get started. Then just shop, shop and shop. Good luck with your little one. |

| tucker was given to me when he was 3 mos. i couldn't believe it! i wasn't even looking for a dog, but a family had bought him for their daughter and she was highly allergic so i got a few things from them when they gave him to me, and then i went shopping- mostly for things i saw recommended here on yt. he came with a leash/collar, food, food dish, treats, pin brush, crate, bed, pee pads, and a few toys. since then, i have bought a harness, nylabones, a collar w/his name and my number on it (for trips to the vet and groomer), a blanket, nail clippers, a life vest, toys, a shirt, and a snoozer lookout car seat. i have to say that the car seat has been my best investment yet! tucker used to get car sick riding in his crate, but since i got the car seat, he hasn't been sick once! i think he's more stable and he can see out the windows, too! a lot of stuff i learned from other people, but most of it i learned from trial and error. good luck with your new pup! |

| Oh my gosh I bought so much I didn't have the space, plus my friends threw me a puppy shower and I received a lot of clothes and toys and cute stuff for her. I had been waiting for her for a long time so when I was finally able to get her, they were really happy for me. I had to get double or triple of a lot of things because I go to my parents on some weekends so I didn't want to drag everything with me so I bought extras for home. But I bought all of these 2 weeks before her arrival: 1 soft crate/carrier 1 hard crate 1 furry bed 1 square princess bed with headboard 2 stainless steel bowls 2 ceramic "PRINCESS" bowls 2 ceramic paw print bowls 3 types of dog foods 4 bathing towels 3 shampoos (wanted to try them out over time to see which one was better) 2 toothbrushes 2 toothpastes 3 sets of PJ's (all too big since she was barely 1 lbs.) 2 shirts 3 dresses 6 Baby blankets 1 box of puppy pads 1 Nutrical 2 boxes of healthy, vet approved treats 1 big vet appointment 1 box of toys (accumulated from the shower and my own buys) 1 suitcase (for her clothes) 1 rhinestone harness 1 rhinestone leash 1 retractable leash 1 Hamster harness 1 box of Nylabones 1 box of Buddha Bones 1 bottle of bitter apple spray 2 brushes 1 flea comb 1 cute undies 1 cute pink carrier to tote her around 2 baby gates 1 LOVING MOMMA WHO CRIED THE MINUTE I SAW HER!!!
